Do you ever look up into the stars, at the infinite stretch of planets and constellations, and think, “Why do I land on the ground when I jump up instead of floating off into space? Why do things fall down when I cast or drop them?” The answer is gravity, an invisible force that pulls objects toward each other. Earth's gravity is what keeps you on the ground and what makes things fall.
According to the rule of gravity, whatever goes up should come down. However, this hulking, dramatic new concrete structure in the heart of Cebu, particularly in Mandaue City, appears to defy this rule.
Take a tour in Upside Down World, a gravity defying upside down house where everything's flipped on its head. Designed as an interactive exhibit, the museum is arranged like a house, where you move into various rooms while all the furniture is installed on the ceiling. Marvel at this bizarre destination as it will challenge your senses and arouse your curiosity, guaranteed to make your head spin. Disorient yourself as you parade through this unique attraction.
Upside Down World directly reflects the museum’s bold vision and ambition to deliver stimulating, unexpected art experience and entice people – from art lovers to art newbies, to visit the museum and engage in this new perspective on art. Brace yourself as I’m about to show you something that will turn your whole world upside down, literally.
Upon entry, everything seems normal. There’s a reception area wherein you secure individual ticket by paying the required amount.
As a policy, you’ll only be permitted to get inside barefoot so you have to set your footwear and other belongings in an upside down locker. Don’t forget to bring a camera, as that is the whole point of the tour.
The inverted space includes eleven (11) different galleries where you can charade and take photos to your heart’s content. Have a topsy-turvy fun by scoping out the inverted interiors of each room. It is designed to boggle your minds and unleash the creativity in you.
Trick of the eye: Once the photo is flipped upside down, it reveals how the optical illusion is achieved.

The museum also has a souvenir shop if you want to take something to memorialize your visit.
