Koutoubia
The minaret of Koutoubia, which dates from the twelfth century, served as a model for the Giralda of Seville and Hassan Tower of Rabat. After the conquest of Marrakech by the Almohads in 1147, Abd-el-Moumen built the Koutoubia on the site of a palace Almoravid. Restored, the minaret appears today in all its splendor, especially at night when it is illuminated. Koutoubia is considered one of the most beautiful monuments of North Africa.
