Dtube Chat: WHERE THE HELL SHOULD I LIVE?!?!?!

in #travel7 years ago

Hey guys, so I explained in a previous video that I am really unhappy in Phoenix, as the heat is killing my MS and every year it gets harder.

Soooo I am considering moving.

Here are the contenders:

Bay City, MI

Buffalo, NY

Cincinnati, OH

Pittsburgh, PA

San Antonio, TX (though more cost prohibitive)

These are all places that we could potentially move to mortgage-free which would finally give me time to work on my musical. It's amazing how your priorities change when you feel like your life has been shortened.

Anyway, I would LOVE your input on any of these places. Are they awful? Great? We know they are butt ass cold, other than Texas.

Where the hell should I live?

How about leaving the USA for a while for a real Mediterranean climate and peace?

Haha because there is no real peace with 3 children 6 and under! :)

It would be much easier in any case, trust me.. but yeah, they could feel more comfortable as well

Opt 4🔥

I live in Toronto, and I can tell you winter gets tiring but Ohio seems like a good option!

I love michigan, but bay city, its kind of a dying area, and rising crime. Pitt is a growing area...

South and Central Ohio (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus) is a nice compromise in weather. You get all 4 seasons and none of them too extreme. Buffalo will get a TON of snow. If that's what you want then the weather there is comparable to Dayton, OH but with LOTS of snow. Northern Ohio (Toledo, Cleveland) you'll get a fair bit of snow and colder weather too because of the lake effect.

If you consider Ohio, Pittsburg or NY, consider that while the average temperatures are not like Pheonix, you have humidity which can make it seem very hot even when it might only be 85 degrees outside. (of course, I think San Antonio can be pretty humid too).

You didn't mention this in your list of places, but you may want to consider something like Knoxville, TN. My best friend lives there and I used to live there long ago. You get all 4 seasons, the weather is not extreme on any end. You're right on the edge of the Appalachian mountains, in fact, it's only an hour from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There are rivers and lakes all around. In general, it's a very nice place if you haven't considered it.

Hope this helps - good luck with your search.

Cheap + Snow = Romania...........obviously =D

Come to Toronto and I will move to the warmer climates! Lol

Alternative medicine is really big in the pacific NW. I'd suggest Eugene, OR or Seattle area. I've visited 47 different states during my travels about 10 years ago. My gut tells me you would like Spokane, WA.

The east coast (anything east of the Mississippi) is generally to be avoided unless you live outside of a city.

There are a lot of places I would love to live in, but the whole point of moving is to find cheaper housing than we have now!!!

Renting or buying? I can't watch the video until after 2 am (out of data)...

Buying!

Have you considered buying land without a house on it (buy an RV instead)? If it isn't attached to the land, it can't be taxed.

I'm not sure that would be enough room for 5!

Colorado! It's not too far and you can visit Arizona. We got all seasons and fall is best here! Moutain views and great scenery! Glad I waited until the end of the video to send the message but I still say, Colorado!
