Traveling is not expensive
I have a lot of friends that keep telling me "traveling is too expensive." I then ask them what's their budget and they tell me "$1,000 to $1,500." Well $1000 is more than enough to go to most countries in the world.
Most people are worried about the price of the plane ticket. Plane tickets do not have to be expensive. If you time it right you can go to almost any country for less than $500 round trip. This leaves you with $500 for hotel rooms, which should get you at least 5 to 7 days.
Buy tickets in Offseason
The best dates to book flights are during off season. This is usually during March, April, October, November, and Early December.
I didn't even spend more than 3 minutes searching, and I found flights for $520 dollars to go to JAPAN!!! Japan is a dream destination for a lot of people, so go and plan to visit during October!
For $10 more, you get to shorten to flight by 7 hours.

Buy tickets on the same day
This is usually risky, but if I already took days off for vacation and I wanted to go somewhere impromptu then I call the airlines and ask if they have any backup tickets that I can buy. At times I was able to score tickets for just a few hundred dollars.
Hotel rates are 50 to 60% cheaper during off season
Here are three 5 star luxury dream hotels in Bangkok between $90 to $120. The Lebua was also featured in the movie "Hangovers 2."
Roundtrip tickets for Bangkok were $560. 5 nights at a five star hotel in bangkokg costs $475. Total round trip is $1,035, and you have $300 left over to spend when you're there. For Thailand it's more than enough.

Afterthoughts
There are many people who can not afford even $400 to leave the country. This is why I made this guide. You also have to remember that you don't have to go to a new country to see new things. The country, and location where you currently live at are just as beautiful. Take the break from work and visit your local natural wonders.
