As I got into the taxi, I had a flashback of all the joyous moments of living in Peru. From climbing Machu Picchu to the numerous times walking along the coast line, they were absolutely magical. The ride to the airport was lengthy, our flight was right in the middle of rush hour. Everybody was trying to get to their destination with no patience whatsoever. Our driver being a chatterbox, was talking with my fiancee about everything under the sun. Since I didn't master Spanish during my stay I could only make out a few words every so often. I went back into deep thought and felt that I had rejuvenated my soul to take on this next adventurous step in my personal evolution. If anybody has the opportunity to take time off to recharge their batteries, I highly recommend doing it. You will learn a great amount of new information that might bring you some valuable wisdom. Once I broke out of my trance, my favorite song by Rod Stewart "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" came on the radio. Bringing a smile to my face, I kissed my fiancee on the cheek and waited politely until the car pulled to a stop. We grabbed out our suitcases and said our goodbyes to the driver. It was time to get aboard the plane and head back to the United States. Next stop Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
"Home sweet home in the opposite timezone"
When we arrived, we stayed with a generous couple named Jeremy and Candra Kennedy. They were kind enough to let us live with them in their home, which we are very grateful for. If you have tried to set up housing from a foreign country its not an easy task, as one might think. In West Philadelphia, where we were staying, we immediately noticed the differences in the air and housing quality. It was surreal to be back in the United States. I was not use to the predictable nature that it possesses. Once we unpacked and got situated, days went by lightning fast that I couldn't even keep track of it all. We would walk from morning until night around Center City dropping off resumes while trying to enjoy and adjust to the new environment. Our feet were aching by the fourth day. Thankfully our work paid off in roughly 10 days we had already found jobs and a place to live. It appeared as though everything fell gracefully into our laps making it seem like it was the right decision to leave at the time we did.
Why Philadelphia?
For the curious minded people, we simply chose Philadelphia because a couple of good friends of ours said "It's a dope place to go". Actually, not those exact words but the reason holds true. Neither of us have lived on this side of the country so we said "Let's give it a shot. What do we have to lose?" Like that, we instantly became Norte Americanos all over again.
Status Update!
Almost four weeks in, my schedule has not yet been solidified as I would like for it to be, but I can't complain. With an income coming in and not having to live off my savings, I am quite content with the current situation. There are good things coming that I cannot speak of at this moment, so please be patient. I will continue as I have before writing regular pieces on hot places to visit in Philadelphia, as well as some of my personal stories, business ideas, cryptocurrencies and much more. On a final note: "Always be generous".
