I miss Ibiza!

in #travel8 years ago

Hey guys.

Was just eating dinner. Nothing fancy, just a Cesar salad. I was looking at some of my pictures from my last Ibiza trip, and it made me realise……. How much I miss that magical island!!

If you had no restraints, not limits, and were able to do exactly what you wanted to do, and settle down where ever you wanted, where would that be? For me it would be Ibiza, no contest!

Nostradamus, the 15th century French psychic, astrologer and physician predicted that “Ibiza will be Earth’s final refuge”. When nuclear disasters will wipe out most lives on Earth, Ibiza will stand as the only life-supporting environment, because of the peculiar prevailing wind patterns over the island. Sounds legit :-)

For most outsiders, Ibiza is just “another chaotic party travel destination”. But this place is so much more. Of course the island is known for its crazy - well I won’t say nightlife, as the parties are on all day long - so let’s say, party life! It is wild and crazy. Some of the best parties in the world, has been going on here, and they’re still going.

But as said, it is much more than that. First of all, the nature is amazing. This is such a beautiful place. It’s warm and sunny (at least 7 months a year). Up on the northern part of the island, it’s so quiet and tranquil, that it is hard to understand that just 20 km down the road, you’ll find the biggest club in the world, where wobbling morning after wobbling morning dawns for 14.000 clubbers.
Ibiza is great for people who wants to pamper themselves. There are many luxury spa’s, including the one up in the mountains where all the DJ’s and famous goes to. It’s very expensive, and not easily accessible, but very well worth the effort (and money). I dare not speak its name, as some people are keen on keeping it a secret :-D There are also a lot of yoga retreats to be found.
Ibiza is great for active people. You’ll find a lot of MTB and downhill trails. Check out http://rideibiza.com
Hiking is also a thing there. Some of the tracks are really tough, so don’t do them if you’re not in good shape. And oh, don’t forget plenty of water.
If you’re there just to relax, there are great beaches all around the island. If you’re there with a partner, you can (with a little effort), find tiny lagoon’s where you can spend the whole day, just you and your partner, without getting disturbed. Romantic, eh? :-)

Below there are some pictures from my last trip to Ibiza. I was there with my friend Jesper. We went there in October 2016, to partake in the last party to ever be held in the renowned, and multiple award-winning, club - Space. A 24-hour party, celebrating 27 years of existence, with 130 of the worlds top DJ’s. It was beyond amazing - and very emotional.

OK, this post got longer than I intended. Bear with me please, I got carried away. Ibiza virgins, going there for the first time: hit me up, and I’ll share all my best tips and tricks for you for an awesome holiday. People who have seen the great, and funny movie "It's All Gone Pete Tong", will probably recognise this spot on the picture. This is where Frankie and Penelope orders "two scotch neat, please".
