Consider this, flying from Dublin to Tokyo and back in total for 62 hours and paying 812€ for the return flights.
Then consider 24€ extra to cut 30 hours off flight/layover time. I think offering 35 hr flights is insane, but maybe people can go an explore dubai for 1 day instead of waiting in the airport, although I'm not sure if you can do this on connecting flights. Actually if you have a visa ( if required for dubai) you can, at the very least you will have to show them the plane tickets for the next flights and go through immigation on the way out and security on the way back in.
If the only option especially when trying to maximise holiday time is to wait at the airport, the ideal wait time is 2-4 hours. This means if the flight is delayed by an hour or 2 you could still make the connecting leg of the flight.
