On the Edge of Ha Giang.

in #travel7 years ago

Hi all,

I wanted to share one of my favourite experiences, one of my most treasured memories from traveling Vietnam - I share a lot on Vietnam, I know, but I love it here!

So, it was day 3 of our 4 day motorbike ride around Ha Giang. (There is a specific route for those looking to do this.) We had arrived in Lung Cuu, the most northern village in Vietnam, closest to the Chinese border, just prior to sun down the day before.

We had decided to wake up at 5am to watch the sunrise from the Flag Tower. Look, there it is in the distance (the tower not the sunset):

Unfortunately... It was a misty morning, not being able to see the sunset we gazed at the rolling mountains and found beauty in the mist shrouding them:

... And here I am, having could not resist a snap of myself in this scenery! (obviously a bit of filtering, haha!)

After we had peered enough (is there ever enough?) into the valleys we decided to drive to get a closer look, on the edge of the border between Vietnam and China. Here you see all sorts of wonderous things, such a below - these beautiful woman returning to their village (the real most northern village in Vietnam, I'm unsure of its name) with freshly picked herbs:

And this moment the Jeweled Flower Mantis caught his lunch, the Bumblebee! (look closely):

Its beautiful there and I suggest that those looking to taste that kind of freedom, go there.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and this post. Have a great day! :D
