Last August my wife @fernwehninja and I went on a trip to Barcelona.
We flew from Charleroi in Belgium to Girona , Spain early in the morning , so we headed to Belgium a day before the flight.
We ordered tickets at a bus company called FlixBus . A very decent price , because we only payed 11 € p.p for a one way trip from Amsterdam to Brussels .
The next morning we woke up early to catch our flight.
Time for take off.
After a 2 hour flight , we arrived at the airport of Girona , around 1.5 hours away from Barcelona .
We went from 16 degrees celsius to 30 degrees .
Just how we like it :)
Since we were packed lightly with only 2 bags with us , we figured it would be smarter to just go to Barcelona directly , and check in late at our hotel , which was located in Mollet des Valles . A small town a just outside Barcelona .
This to maximize our time exploring the city.
After a 1.5 hour drive with the bus from Girona to Barcelona we reached destination estacio Barcelona Nord.
Time to explore the city!
The first thing on our pad was the Arc de triomf.
A 30 meter high bow that was designed by Spanish architect Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas .
We took some photo's and wandered on to this amazing city. Filled with amazing architecture , great food , and plenty of culture .
After a long walk . We reached our next destination .
Placa del Catalunya.
A long street with a big square . From here you can reach the famous La Rambla . We were lucky to be here before the attacks . A horrible situation that happened there.
Since we walked for a few miles already , we were craving for some food .
We found a restaurant along La Rambla , where we ordered a small pan of Paella , accompenied with 3 small tapas.
Unfortunately i dont have any photo's of that , because my battery was dead and it was charging , but it looked pretty much like this.

After we finished our dinner and charged our phone it was time to continue our journey through this wonderful city.
I remebered a fountain show called Font Magica (magical fountain ) , where i been before during my last visit to Barcelona .
I was sure my wife would love this so we walked for an hour or so towards Placa Espanya , located near Mont Juïc .
A beautiful boulevard alligned with small fountains and at the end a big fountain and a beautiful building at the end.
After resting here for a while after a incredible long walk . The sun started to go down , and it became busier and busier , untill the square was packed with people.
It was obvious that the show would start any moment.
But before the fountains started there color dance , we got entertained by some amazing breakdance performance. Which we gladly recorded. It was amazing what tricks they pulled out of there sleaves .
And then the show finally started !
The music started playing , the colors started shining and the water started dancing !
We still had to get to our hotel , around 1 hour away from Barcelona , so it was time to head back.
Our first day in this magnificent city , had come to an end .
Thank you all for reading , i hoped you enjoyed and maybe inspired you to visit Barcelona if you haven't done so already.
I wish you all a very good day!
I`m so jealous! ^.^
