Recently I took a short holiday to recharge and enjoy a little peace in nature. There is something to be said for the silence of nature. Life can often get way too busy and simultaneously robs us of the joys of nature. Being productive is honorable, and good for one's well-being. However, lose that fine balance between productivity and rest, and things lose perspective. It's funny how drawing out from routine provides insight and clarity. Whenever I head off on a bit of a retreat, that's exactly what I try and do.
Silence has a voice and if you want to hear it, you will have to find a corner somewhere in the sun. Finding that warmth in the midst of nature allows one to simply enjoy the clarity and comfort it brings. It's here that I ponder the path ahead, my goals, and my plans. Sometimes it's good to withdraw and gain a better perspective. When we are so busy in the moment, we forget our true motivation. There is simply no better recharge than the one nature provides.
The challenge is now to continue finding my corner in the sun, a daily and rejuvenating habit. Clarity of mind increases productivity and efficiency.
