[Catt's Travel] Costa Rica: Landing

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Our adventure started from LAX (Los Angeles, USA) to head to SJO (San Jose, Costa Rica).

Took a nonstop flight and picked up our rental car as soon as we landed. A lot of folks suggested to rent a 4x4/AWD on forums (TripAdvisor) for the drive to La Fortuna, but I honestly don’t think it’s necessary. Perhaps they’re not as experienced driving on rocky roads and avoiding potholes. Yes, grounds were wet from the rain, but the roads were paved (some areas were rocky near the Arenal National Park, etc). But all in all, the roads were not muddy where you’d need 4x4, rocks and gravel should give you enough traction to drive to the major areas/destination.

The drive was gorgeous!

Let me know if you want me to include any details like company, costs, etc for the car rentals or other logistics! Happy to provide you with the details!
