Travel Diaries: Trying CURRY ICE CREAM in Florence!

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello all, so I'm here with my final installment of my travel diaries series. If you haven't read my previous two posts, then you won't know that last week I visited Florence, Italy with my mum. Today I'll be telling you what I got up to on my third and final day!

We started our day as we did the previous day, with a croissant and an orange juice. We ate this as we joined yet another long line to enter a beautiful cathedral next to the tower we'd climbed two days earlier. It took us about half an hour to get in, however the inside was some what of a disappointment. The inside was very plain and a striking contrast to the intricate patterns on the outside of the building. We didn't spend long inside the cathedral, but the time we did spend inside was spent taking pictures, admiring the high and stunning ceiling and lighting a candle for my granddad who has recently passed on.

We didn't have long before we had to head back to the air port, so we went back to the restaurant that we visited the day before and had the exact same meal because it was just so delicious. After our meal, we went and got dessert from an ice cream shop that sold a variety of different flavors including cheese and curry! My mum bravely opted for the curry - which she said was very different and tasty, however I wasn't quite as adventurous having a water melon sorbet.

Sadly we then had to head back to the hotel to collect our luggage and order a taxi before we began the long and painful ordeal that was heading home. Despite the fact that we'd only been in Florence for three days, we felt like we'd seen most of what we wanted to see as we'd packed it all in. I absolutely adore Italy and would love to go back there hopefully in the near future and explore places such as Pisa, Venice and Rome!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. If you did, please give it an upvote and a comment below. I'd also love it if you resteemed and followed my blog as it really helps me out. As always, where ever you are in the world, I hope you have a lovely day/night and thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog!
