Durante estas vacaciones he tenido la oportunidad de visitar el Poble Vell de Cobera d'Ebre. Ubicada en la Terra Alta en la provincia de Tarragona, esta población sufríó uno de los mayores desastres de su historia durante la Guerra Civil Española. La famosa Batalla del Ebro (25 de julio al 17 de noviembre de 1938) tuvo su frente muy cerca de allí dejando el Poble Vell no sólo marcado por las balas y la metralla, si no prácticamente destruido por las bombas.

Los pobladores del Poble Vell tuvieron que trasladarse a la parte baja del pueblo de esta manera las ruinas abandonadas se convirtieron en un símbolo del episodio más trájico de la historia reciente de España. Una historia que no deberíamos olvidar.

During this holiday I visited Poble Vell de Cobera d'Ebre. Located in Terra Alta in the province of Tarragona, this town suffered one of the greatest disasters of its history during the Spanish Civil War. The famous Battle of the Ebro (July 25 to November 17, 1938) had its front very close to leaving the Poble Vell not only marked by bullets and shrapnel, if not practically destroyed by bombs.

The villagers of the Poble Vell had to move to the lower part of the village in this way the abandoned ruins became a symbol of the most tragic episode of the recent history of Spain. A story we should not forget.
