Every year they come to gather in the Arizona desert.
This is a completely free event, open to everyone.
It is in Quartzsite AZ on BLM free two week camping land.
Check out this great drone footage from Seven Wanders The World
First it was hundreds, now it’s thousands. People from all over the world, and all walks of life, come to meet in this beautiful desert landscape. Many are full time nomads, and this annual event affords an opportunity to reconnect with friends and share stories of the road.
They also come to get ideas from other nomads about all kinds of things relating to this lifestyle. There are daily seminars (free) on various topics from making trail mix, to RV maintenance.
The bonds of friendship formed here carryover throughout the year with some forming “tribes” and traveling together year round.
The main circle is where people gather for the seminars. This was day one of the ten day event.
This is also a place to come to meet “famous” YouTube nomads like Eric and Jax from Nomadic Fanatic, and Pandamonium.
We also saw Jed from Into The Mystery, Jamie from Enigmatic Nomadics, Kevin from Campervan Kevin, and Brian from Adventure Van Man.
We aren’t camping there now but may move our camp down there for the final weekend. It is a great energetic atmosphere with a lot of like minded people.
I was driving back from TX, when passing through Quartzite I thought I passed through a modern day nomadic civilization. Literally thousands of RV's cheek by jowl, and it seemed like all of them were selling rocks.
I guess you make hay while the sun shines, and the desert has no lack of rocks =p
This looks like a fascinating offshoot of the winter crowd there.
Thanks!
Arizona does lend itself with nice winter weather, expect during the night of course. My parents homestead in Golden Valley, Az. May you have a great week @choosefreedom
Is this like low cost Burning Man?
Funny. That’s what I was going for with the “every year they come to the desert”. You picked up on it.
As far as an answer to your question, some want a “poor man’s burn”, others don’t. This year they split into two groups. One wants to party 🎉 and the other wants no dust and quiet. We’ll see how that works out. If I go camp there I’ll be in the noisy camp for sure.
Looks like a lot of fun! The weather is gorgeous as well! Seems like a good spot to watch for UFOs at night time. :)
