Looking for a good place to visit on your next holiday? I gotchu !
Located in Cambodia, Siem Reap is for everyone who enjoys exploring new cultures and histories. There are more than 1000 ancient temples in Siem Reap. It is a place where tourists and adventurers gathered to enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful Ancient Temple," Angkor Wat" and enjoy the amazing nightlife at "Pubstreet".
Here are a few fun places/activities you can visit/do in Siem Reap
Angkor Wat Temple
The picture speaks for itself, Angkor Wat Temple has a very unique architecture. Inside the temple, you can feel the divine energy around you (many people said that, including foreigners, but I felt nothing honestly, probably because I am dead inside). Jokes apart, you will see a lot of hindu’s inspired carvings on the wall and they are telling a story, I will go into the detail in the future blog on the History of Angkor Wat.
If you want to have a better understanding before exploring, visit “Angkor National Museum” 1st. Or you can simply hire a guide.
The sunrise at Angkor Wat is breathtakingly beautiful. Here is a cheat to get the best picture for your Instagram post.
But wait, it’s not that easy 😃, the gate to the temple open at 5 AM, so to ensure the best spot, be there at 4:45AM 😃 (Sometimes, It is common for people who arrived late and try to steal your best spot, so don’t be hesitate to sacrifice his/her worthless life to the dark lord. I’m just kidding, just tell them to get off 😃 .
But here is the uniqueness of Angkor Wat, on somewhere around 21st (could be 20th could be 22nd, ) of March every year, you can actually see the sun rising over the central tower of Angkor wat. It is believed that the temple is aligned with sun on the spring equinox.
Apart from Angkor Wat, you can also visit other temples, there are more than 1000 temples in Siem Riep, it’s completely OK to miss most of them. Some of them are already collapsed.
Here are the other 2 temples that I recommend : Banteay Srei, Bayon
Banteay Srei Temple
Bayon Temple
Pubstreet
Exploring the temple at day, and double the fun in pubstreet at night . It is almost like Pattaya, you can find local food, western food, $0.5 beers and more. It’s not a very best place for children obviously, I mean you can get a can beer there for less than $1, you got what I mean. I recommend you to try some deep-fried insects there. (They taste a lot better than u expected 😃)
Apsara Dancing
Apasara dance is a Cambodia traditional dance. I will just let the video speak itself.
"Apsara" refers to the ladies who dressed in those amazing costumes. There are many kind of Apsara dance.
If u love exploring new cultures, give it a try :D
This apsara dance is called "Robam Chun Por"
Happy Pizza
It’s not a place, but a pizza with weed as topping. Marijuana is illegal in Cambodia, so I don’t recommend it. “Why do u write it here then?”. I’ve never seen or heard anyone got arrested for eating “Happy Pizza”.
Tips
You can get from place to place by renting a bike, but since Cambodia is a very warm place, I recommend u to hire a Tuk-Tuk driver, as shown in the picture below 😃 Tuk-Tuk driver usually charge you around $20 a day ( price might change, I visited there 3 years ago ) he will pick you up at the hotel and take you around Siem Reap. If your Tuk-Tuk driver can’t speak English, google the location, and show them the picture. If u found a nice Tuk-Tuk driver, tell him to pick you up again. It's hard to find good Tuk-Tuk drivers :D
Thank you for your time.
Any Suggestions, comments will be much appreciated.

Good photo:) I think Cambodia s a nice place to see those historical place. And Cambodia ia a relatively cheap for visitor than other expats Asian country. But the knowledge is one of a difficulties since many local people don't how to speak English. It is common but maybe feel frustrated is if you can't communicate with them verbally....
Yeah, I completely agree. That's why most tourists chose to hire a guide to help them x)
Thank you for sharing this great information! I had no idea that so many people showed up so early at the temple just to take a picture! But from the looks of it, its definitely worth it. Beautiful Sights!
It definitely is :D. If you plan to visit it, don't visit it during May-July, as it is the rainy season. The weather will ruin your motivation :D
Lol thanks! Yeah I've had vacations like that before. Rain, rain and more rain. Very depressing.
