Warm regards Steemit friends:
Last December 23 I had the opportunity to visit El Ávila National Park in Venezuela, which is a mountainous area that separates Caracas from the Caribbean Sea, and corresponds to the central part of the Cordillera de la Costa, in this is the topo Goering of 2,470 meters.
These map shows the trail:
At 8:30 a.m. we start the ascent from the edge of the Cota Mil distributor El Marqués, staying overnight that day up there and going down early the next day.
It must be climbed with: tent, sleeping, clothes for the cold (even in dry weather), food, drink (Not much, on the way there are water points), long pants and shoes, a comfortable and appropriate backpack to carry all this.
The route to climb Topo Goering is La Julia, this climb is hard because of its inclination, but it is not too long. From here is the location of Rangers station, where they must register, in this part the ranger makes a review of the bags, because it is totally forbidden to make bonfires inside the Avila.
At 9:40 am we arrive at the tank, the first water intake, where the approximate temperature is 15 degrees Celsius. We arrived at the Mirador del Edén at 10:34 at this point there are two options to continue climbing: Route 77 and two flags.
The first option for the Eden, is a pleasant walk with a small waterfall, and then by the esplanade of Rancho Grande.
The second option is a very steep ascent that goes directly to the intersection and that can be complicated for beginners and if it takes a lot of weight, but it is much shorter.
We chose to leave for Eden, we arrived at Racho Grande at 12:00 am, we had lunch and we rested, in this stop you can also collect water, but it is not recommended because the water depending on whether there was rain or it can not be very cloudy . We continue by the Toyota which is a bit heavy to pass after eating, we arrived to our destination at 2:10 pm.
