Hello Steemians
The Old Town of Semarang is an area in Semarang that became the center of commerce in the 19-20th century. In those days, to secure the people and their territory, the area was built fortress, which is named after Vijhoek fortress. To speed up the connection between the three gates of the fortified gates were made connecting roads, with the main road named after: Heeren Straat. Currently named Jl. Let Jen Soeprapto. One of the locations of the existing fortress to this day is the Berok Bridge, called De Zuider Por.
The Old Town area of Semarang is a silent witness of Indonesian history of Dutch colonial period over 2 centuries, and its location adjacent to the economic area. In this place there are about 50 ancient buildings that still stand firmly and have a history of Colonialism in Semarang.
In general the character of the buildings in this region follows the buildings on the European continent around the 1700s. This can be seen from the typical building details and ornaments identical to the European style. Like the size of the doors and windows are incredible large, the use of colored glass, the form of a unique roof, until the basement.
My legs stalled with a beautiful archway building that became an icon of the old city of Semarang Blenduk Church. The church is over 200 years old still looks clean and beautiful. And until now still actively used for worship activities.
The church which was founded in 1753 was crowded by tourists both locally and abroad. Even when I got here, there were some special interviews from private television stations. It was named after the Blenduk church on the top of two towers and a large dome. The dome in Javanese means Blenduk.
Two hours passed, drowned in Semarang nuances in the past I finally returned to Blenduk Church. Meet with Tarie and continue roaming the old town of Semarang until the Maghrib call to prayer. Tucked hope and prayer silently, Hopefully someday when I return, the Old Town of Semarang preen beautiful.
It was late this afternoon I had been around this very hot city of Semarang but the heat and the tired of course paid off with the pleasure of being able to visit this cool city.
