A trip to Vienna and Bratislava

zur deutschen Version!

Dear Steemians!

At the beginning of this week I visited Vienna and Bratislava. Vienna is the capital of Austria with a population of about 1.8 million. It's known for it's high quality standard of life and for it's famous historical past. There are many museums, theaters, historical buildings and much more places to see. Everybody is find what he is looking for in this beautiful city.

Me with my cousin in front of the Natural History Museum

I visited the historical downtown with it's landmark the "Stephansdom" and walked with my cousin Linh through the "Museumsquartier". In my opinion the Natural History Museum is very interesting and it's worth a visit. The museum houses approximately 30 million objects and the number is still growing. After three hours of sight seeing we went shopping in the "Mariahilfer Straße".

We also visited the University of Vienna. It was founded in 1365 and it's the second oldest university in the german-speaking world (The Charles University in Prague is the oldest one)

Trip with the catamaran

After a wonderful day in Vienna we decided to go to Bratislava. We took the Twin City Liner from Schwedenplatz, Vienna (U4, U1) to Bratislava. It's a modern high speed catamaran. The journey on the Danube took about 90 minutes and it has offered a great view.

Bratislava

Bratislava (ger. Pressburg) is the capital of the Slovak Republic and counts about 500.000 inhabitants. It have a very beautiful historical downtown and a very impressive Castle on the hill "Bratislava Castle".

Look how beautiful the downtown of Bratislava is!

The center of Bratislava is not too big. From the boat mooring you can easily reach the downtown with it's shops, markets, cafés and restaurants by foot. The Bratislava Castle can also be reached by foot (about 20 minutes from the center)

For my soul

At the end of two funny days I ate this wonderful Korean Bulgogi by KIM kocht in Vienna. Afterwards I reflected the last two days with a delicious gin cocktail and I still had a good time with my cousin :-)
