Hiking adventure in Colorado. Part II

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

About Hiking in Colorado - Part I you can read here.

Another day in Breckenridge and another mountain conquered. This time we tried very easy trail near Breckenridge - Mayflower Gulch Trail.
The exact start location you can find here.

It was just 2 of us, me and Igor, and we had a great time! The whole path was smooth and easy. So, if you’ve never hiked before, this trail will be perfect for your first time. And look at this view.

We met couple people on our way there. They actually live close to Denver and hiked their whole life, they gave us great hiking tips not only about Colorado, but about the other countries as well, and they were around 65 years old, great ladies! They were discussing their trip to Poland which supposed to happen in a week, how they are all going there together, such sweet people 😊

At some point we reached old abandoned mining ruins. It’s just a great hike if you have kids by the way, since there are various ruins that you can explore. I’m not a kid, but I went ahead and climbed that wooden construction.

After that we decided to go off the trail and reach the snow parts of the mountain. Snow in August, hell yeah!!! 😊

Beautiful wildflowers are everywhere!!! You will be impressed!

From the top you can see the Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir and have a spectacular 360 view! Sometimes it’s worth to go off the path…

When we reached the part with lots of rocks we decided to continue to go up, I made only half way though since the rocks weren’t steady and started falling, it became dangerous to continue walking, so we turned back and just enjoyed the incredible view.

This place is worth hiking, and it’s very popular at winter time also, so don’t wait if you live in Colorado! Go and explore!

Hey zumi, it seems you had great adventure over your track. I also had tracking once, when I was just 16, in manali (India), best tracking destination of my country.
