Slope of earth, bowl of sky. When the world is so big the shadows of the clouds are small in your vision, and the scope of the horizon has no reference.
I loved my time driving through Ireland. Most cities and towns were so small and quaint; leaving them and spending time in the rolling country was a bit of a shock, measured against the size of the cliffs and the lone rocks and the long valleys and the never-ending inclines and descents. Criss-crossing the country over and over again, I passed so many stretches like this one... beautiful vistas with sprawling clouds, dappled with shadows that could encompass entire villages in velvety shade.
I drove a lazy loop around Errigal Mountain on my way to Castle Glenveagh. Gliding along the dips and swells of Éire was hypnotic and stunning. I find myself coming back to these pictures today, when I have such a strong desire to run away from the quick, choppy anger and pettiness of people to just feel small and languid.
I imagine being enveloped in these clouds and folds and pushing down my sunglasses and driving through Ireland today. Despite the simplicity, these prints (especially the last two) have been some of the most popular that I have been sending to people around the world. I love the power that pictures have, that nature has, that the joy of discovery and the open road can gently hum right into your bones as the wheels spin and the pavement warms in the sun. These boulders, some the size of buses, are sprinkled delicately through the foothills, and my mind just can't quite understand it all at once.
If you've also had one of those days, I hope you've got an experience like this to draw on to stretch you out and slow you down... but if not, then I'm sharing this one with you, from the heart. 🖤
These photos and words are my own work, inspired by travels all over this pretty blue marble of ours. I hope you like them. 🌶️
Blue sky, white clouds and colourful earth - what a combination it is!
Most of the places in Ireland I explored had a stunning, sculptural quality to them~ definitely artistic :)
Beautiful scenery of beautiful results. photo the natural beauty that has brought you to get a beautiful dream every night. You are a very lucky person, because you have seen what I can not see in my life.I have never seen this scene it's amazing. Thank you guys for sharing, I hope someday to visit such a beautiful place even if it is not possible for me.
Thanks
Happy valentine day for you @crimsonclad
thank you! It is my great dream to share the world with others, a tiny slice at a time 🖤

Beautiful photo's ....... I once walked the mcgillycuddy reeks and some other munro's in Ireland. It was stunning, and have very find memories of my time in Ireland touring, but sadly very very few photographs as it was pre-digital! Walking was different back then!
I never forget how fortunate I am to be able to carry my gear with me when I travel, but not having it simply means we're likely to have a more present experience in the moment. I often find I relive, and re-examine how I actually perceived the places I've been as I look at the photos again when it comes time to share.
Beautifully said. The felt presence of direct experience!
Very beautiful pics, reminds me of my desert a bit.
oh, I have such a soft spot for the desert... 🖤
Nice hills/mountains... What is a Roving in this context?
well, the Irish Rovers are a fairly well known band that was formed in the sixties and popularized traditional elements of Irish music across Canada and North America, and I grew up singing some of their songs... I often think very fondly of them. And now, here I am all grown, roving around in their homeland:
Cool, so rover is a kind of wanderer. Im just thinking about the song "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix
I am sorry for doing this but I can't help but think about how awesome that range would be for paragliding. LOL That looks like such an epic spot. When did you go there?
I was going to say just last year, but it's 2018 now isn't it? So, late in 2016. I did actually see someone paragliding when I was at the Giant's Causeway, which was pretty incredible~ I feel like you could just go forever...
The cool thing is, as long as the winds are right, you can fly forever. There are a handful of guys that are breaking records over here that have 6hour flights that are over 80 miles long. I am hoping to get one of these epic flights this spring here in San Diego.
I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland, looks amazing. I just joined discord and I’m totally lost and confused, do you have any tips
Absolutely! the big thing is finding a few people you connect with, either in content or in culture or just in friendship. Those first few solid connections are the ones that you will lean on and that will lean on you as you grow. Using your time on discord to find the people who will best love the content that only you can make is going to go a lonnnng way.
Otherwise, comments like this are so powerful, so great job! Spending a little more time engaging genuinely with a poster and a post is infinitely more rewarding (personally and usually economically) than spray and pray shit commenting. It tends to find you more followers and can earn you more rewards than posting into the void when you first set out :)
Great, thank you so much for the reply 😊 it’s been a huge learning curve for me, but people like you have been so encouraging so I know i’ll Eventually start to ‘ get it’
I would love to go hiking in that place for hours!!! nice views, great pictures... congrats, keep it coming and keep in touch
one of my biggest regrets during my time there is that I didn't allot a day to hike up Errigal Mountain!
Check out these views... looks like I'll have to go back.
Thanks for stopping in and commenting!
Good god those are some amazing views!!
the beauty of landscape photography is that it never talks back
grins
Those mountains looks inviting indeed! Ireland is truly a magical place. Can't wait to be there one day!
I hope you do get there! Between the rolling hills and ruins in every backyard, it's a photographer's dream, truly~
Much like Iceland, this place looks totally otherworldly
I totally, totally agree! I found places like this in Ireland, Iceland, and New Zealand all respectively. I can only imagine the intrigue comes from being a jewel-like, windswept island...
Wow! You're also an Irish? :) I knew @uniwhisp is also an Irish too. I used to be listening in PAL MSP Waves.
The road less traveled is usually paved with untouched beauty! Love how you captured the essence of the untainted Mother Nature :) i love looking at your scenic pics. Esp the recent Iceland one as well! Wish to visit there someday <3 @crimsonclad
Also, since you're a nature and animal lover, I'd like you to check out this post (my partner's) where he visited Thailand and stumbled upon this shelter and he's looking to help them raise funds <3 check out at your free will. Spread the love...
I actually did give it a vote a few days ago~ thank you for suggesting it! and thank you for the kind words :)
You're ever so kind~ on behalf of the cute doggos, kitties and @maverickfoo, thank yousssss <3
Hey @crimsonclad! These are honestly picturesque surroundings, literally capturing what looks like a vivid painting, this pretty blue marble really does know how to strut its stuff ;)
so friggin' true. I always am kind of amazed at how what is essentially giant chunks of rock come out looking like such flowing, vivid sweeps. I think it goes to show how easily our little brains lose track of scope when confronted with this big, wide universe.
Very.. Very wonderfull. Will i go there
I hope so! Ireland is a lovely country with a lot of incredible natural beauty. I tend to choose the locations I travel to based on that more so than the cities or developments and it often means moments like this, where everything feels vast and 'empty' and awe-inspiring
" The Sun and the Expanse, Traveling the Beauty Alongside the Derryveagh Mountains " whooa, Excellent Pictures, great mountains, really a pretty marbles. Nice . i like it.
thanks~ the wonderful thing about landscape photography, is wherever you go... there you are! :)
These pictures are stunningly beautiful.
Ireland looks like a beautiful to visit
Irish Wonderland!!! 😍
They're gorgeous. You really need to get in the habit of entering some of your photographs in @gmuxx's art prompt comps
oh, good point! I wonder if I could just blanket give permission to anyone in the block? 🖤

Ireland is such a beautiful country. These pictures are so great I loved them. This island is divided between the Republic of Ireland, an independent state, and Northern Ireland (a consttuent country of the UK). They share an open border and both are part of the Common Travel Area. Enjoy your time in Ireland
It was interesting, for sure! When I crossed the open border, I didn't actually notice until I got into town and the accents and the colloquialisms had changed, which was a little strange.
fascinating, the place where nature strips
a space to be also landscape and color
earth filled with skies
a lovely little found poem~
Ireland is absolutely breathtaking...
i love this pics are sooo great thanks for share this with all <3
Beautiful photography and breathtaking views!
Beautiful pics of a magical land
Hiya, just swinging by to let you know that this post made the Honorable mentions list in today's Travel Digest!
as always, so very appreciated~
Yo crimmy, it's been a while! Great prints yet again, dappled with such delightful prose. I should get back to posting
You SHOULD, because then we can vote on it. You also remain a holder of one of the very first Crimmi Steemit first edition prints~
Yes I do, and it is so stupendously beauteous
Really beautiful. I can't believe we never went when we lived in the UK.
just means you have reason to go back~
Georgous peaceful looking place
absolutely. Most of Ireland felt to me quite serene and dignified; the country itself feels steeped in tradition.
I am only just a hop and skip over the water in Wales but I have never been to Ireland!
Those photos are stunning - do you use a polarising filter for the sky?
these ones were taking with an ND to help me bring everything down when the sun was glaring, but I have just gotten my hands on a new polarizing filter that I'm excited to start using!
I'd love to be that close :) it means you're much more likely to get there~
The endless beauty of nature always sprang new joy in me.
Very very beatiful photos...and places!
Wow!
These are awesome places.. too bad i don't know this places
But its awesome that you bring these sight to us!
Tanchu Crimson🤗🤗
you'll get there someday, if that's what you want! Until then, my wandering feet will likely travel through a few more places...
Lol
Safe travelling I wish you!😏
And yes its what i want😁🤗
Beautiful photos. Ireland is on my bucket list. But there are soooo many places I want to go. With ancestors from County Sligo, this really inspired me today. Thanks.
Ah! I drove through a few times, actually! As with most of my travel, I highly recommend shoulder season travel. I didn't get as much rain as I expected, things were much less busy, and I was able to spend more time just hanging out in small local places and out on the roads. Keep an eye out for flight deals on the edge of the rainy season and it's really, really economical!
My wife and I generally do shoulder season. We are hitting Morocco in April.
that sounds incredible! I'm waiting for the steemfest announcement before I plan my furthest wanderings this year. It feels odd to....plan ahead
wrinkles nose
I normally plan our international trip six to eight months before we go. I like having the lead time to get prepared. Read some guides, get some local currency from my bank, obtain visas if necessary...and most importantly, pick my seats on the airplane. That far in advance, I normally get my pick.
nice
Nice
