Hola! It’s me again ☺️ Here’s the part two of my Kudat day trip in Sabah. I mentioned about Kelambu Beach at my previous post. Click here to view my previous post :) Kelambu Beach is such a great place!
Next, we are going to the famous Tip of Borneo! 😍
Look at these quiet road, feels so peaceful. 😌
It takes around 15 minutes drive from Kelambu Beach to Tip of Borneo. Roads are a little narrow, so I recommend not to drive too fast. Drive slowly and enjoy the peaceful calm drive. Safety first.
Blue sky with green scenery :)
The road to Tip of Borneo is actually along the coast and there are several chalets nearby Tip of Borneo such as Borneo Tip Beach Lodge, Tommy’s Place and Simpang Mengayau Chalet. If you love beach and ocean, these chalets will be the best place to stay.
Keep going and here we are!!
We are at the northernmost tip of Borneo!!
Tanjung Simpang Mengayau or Tanjung Simpang Mangazou, also known as Tip of Borneo in English is the northernmost tip of Borneo located in the district of Kudat, in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. The tip marks the meeting point of the South China Sea and Sulu Sea. Info Source
Look, there are visitors sitting at the tip but I don’t dare to walk down the slope. It looks slippery and I might get wet. What if there are strong waves coming out of a sudden and people down there might get wash off from the tip! 🙈 Walk to the tip is dangerous especially during windy weather. Better not to take the risk!
Stunning View. ☺️ Image Source
The original name of Tanjung Sampang Mangazou comes from the language of the Rungus, an ethnic group which resides mainly in the district of Kudat. The words Tanjung (cape), Sampang (union) and Mangazou (battle) refers to this location of a battle that occurred when the ethnic Rungus defended their territory against the attack from Moro Pirates. Nice weather but a bit hot. 😆
Kalampunian Beach~ Such a beautiful beach view!! 😍😍
We spot this wonderful beach while we are on the way to Tip of Borneo. Can’t resist to take a picture of it!
The white sandy beach of Kalampunian Beach stretches over 4 Kilometers to the Tip. Info Source
As we rushing to get back to KK, we didn’t manage to watch the sunset from Tip of Borneo. But, we did drop by Tommy’s Place and walk along the beach 😏😆
Beach view ❤️
This place is actually far from Kudat town, which is about 30km away. If you plan to stay at these chalets, you can either eat at their restaurant or barbecue there (but make sure you bring along your own food). 😊
Goodbye Kudat..
Kudat is such a beauty with lots of hidden gems in it. Wanted for a short getaway? Kudat it is. 😊
