I absolutely love Aruba. It's one of those places I visit time and time again. And I never like visiting the same place twice! But, Aruba is the exception. Small, friendly island. Everyone knows each other. Safe and clean. The natives take pride in their little island and make sure guests always feel welcomed.
But, for this post, I'd like to talk to about one of the activities we participated in. And that was booking a sailing on The Morning Star Yacht.

I originally planned for this trip as a surprise anniversary gift for my husband. However, Katrin the owner was traveling and closed on the day of our anniversary, so I decided to include the entire family as an alternative to booking a separate Sunset or Snorkeling cruise for the rest of the family on a different night. And I'm SO glad I did. My heart would've sunk had they not been there to experience this amazing evening.
Except for me, it was everyone's first time on a sail boat. From the beginning Katrin helped in planning the schedule and meals for the evening. Although it was a large family of 7, they still found time to take us to Spanish Lagoon for 20 mins of snorkeling. Which was more than enough for us beginner snorkelers. JJ held onto a life ring the whole time and guided us through the most beautiful coral we've ever seen. Although it was a bit windy, we felt totally safe. I finally felt like I snorkeled correctly for the first time. Could never get what the big deal was until now.
On the boat, Capt JJ let each one of my 3 kids take turns steering the ship. The smiles on their faces were priceless. We then stopped across from Nikki's Beach Lounge while they got dinner ready. Again, we jumped into the calmest waters to relax and go swimming. The food was amazing and the drinks were plentiful!
Hands down, the most remarkable way to spend our last evening in Aruba.
