Hello fellow Steemians,

I hope you are all having a great start to the new week. As usually, I am here with my daily photo challenge where you can submit your personal images from your travels to Prague and other locations in the Czech Republic in the comment section below.

Panoramic view of Prague during sunset from the Vitkov Hill. Depicting Jan Zizka riding a horse, the monument below was unveiled in 1950 on the anniversary of the battle on Vitkov, in which Jan Zizka´s army defeated the Crusaders' troops at this place. Don’t forget to add a short background story for your entry with at least 30 words. I will then go through your submissions and upvote those that meet the requirements. Let me just remind you one more time that only personal images will be accepted in the challenge.

I am really happy to see more and more great photos being submitted to this challenge every day. Yesterday was no exception, we had several awesome entries featured in the photo challenge, including this amazing close-up shot by our new contributor @dalexx with the following description:

I took this picture on our Way to the Prague Castle. It is a Church and called "Veitsdom". A really beautiful Church on a huge Hill. The Way up wasn't the easiest, but upon the Hill you have such an amazing overview of Prague... Awesome! We celebrated an anniversary there and will definetly come back to see also some Parts ouside the City Centre.

Other view of the famous Charles Bridge. In this photo, many different architectonic styles can be observed. The gothic of the bridge and its tower. The neo-renaissance style of different buildings including the National Theater.

Anytime I walk around I can´t help but say woow! Prague Castle is an important symbol of Prague and Czech Rep. Founded in the 9th century, it is the largest castle area in the world. No colection of photos from Prague will ever be complete without a panoramic shot of Prague like this one.

Me posing (enthusiastically :D) in front of sculptures at an outdoor art exhibition near the Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul in Prague Vysehrad on a cloudy day in summer 2014. Located at a rocky promontory above the Vltava River, Vysehrad is one of the oldest parts of Prague, dating back to the middle of the 10th century.

I have to add that the sculptures were designed by Olbram Zoubek (Czech sculptor and designer).

Bee Palace (Palác Včela) (Karla IV. str. 92/1) is a Neo-Renaissance building in Ceske Budejovice built in 1896 . The house was built by Josef Priesel based on the design by architect Paul Brang . Until 1923 the German credit association Biene was located here, so the building was called the Palác Biene (Bee Palace).

In August I went to my first wedding ever. It was held in Písek just one hour from Prague! After a day full of food an alcohol (they literally eat and drink so much for weddings in Prague) I needed to go for a little walk and saw this amazing sunset! The picture might not be the best quality, but I think you get an idea of how beautiful the sky was!

The Charles Bridges gets REALLY crowded during the day It is just packed with people crossing and sight seeing. There are also merchants on the bridge trying to sell you random souvenirs. I didn't buy any while I was there.

Well, since I have already posted the same monument in frontal view, again, here is the one from the street below the hill.
Had very bad light, so quality is questionable, but it is amazing just how massive the statue is!
Cheers! :)

Národní galerie v Praze - In this gallery you'll see only the finest art. we spent there almost 4 hours for around 11 euros. entrance for students is free for permanent exibitions. Masters of world's painting: Kokoschka, Schiele, Munk and more. We paid for the little book that told about each one and were glad we did or else we would have missed out on a lot of the story behind each one.

Love locks are everywhere around the world. These are in Prague.

prague-47.jpg

I captured this moment before the moment I first walked on the Charles Bridge while I was in Prague on holiday two weeks ago.

I really like this one! Good luck :-)

Thank you :-)

Waw, Elise! This is amazing! I love this picture!

Thank you! :)

Wow, such an amazing photo, love how you've captured the locks while blending in the city, river and bridge in the background. Very picturesque!

Thank you!:) Prague is beautiful indeed!

This photo was made in The Prachov Rocks, which are situated in Cesky Raj. I am interested if anyone can find the same stone with the same number on it. If you do just let me know. :-D

Cannabis flavoured beer

This photo has been taken in 2013 during my school trip.
It presents an extraordinary beer, with weed flavour.
I was never sure if marijuana was legal in Czech Republic, but as a teenager i found it funny that you, Czech people, produce so many different types of beer that every tourist would buy and try.

A beautiful street from Prag.. When I visited Prag I tried to enter every street as much as I can. Each street has a different beauty itself. This is my random shot from a street I entered. But I dont know the location in details.

Me being proud of my littler brother!

So this photo was taken, when I went with my sister, my brother to prague for his 18th birthday! You have to love Prague and its Architecture!

This picture was taken on my first trip to the Czech Republic in 2007:
Bild 136.jpg
We drank beer, walked through the city and ate typical czech food. Since 2007 I regularely return to the Czech Republic as we then found some spots to visit. We have been to 3 to 4 places. I can recommend the beer 🍺 and the food 🍰

Clicked this picture from Old Town Bridge Tower, which is one of the best places for the lovely views of the Charles Bridge on one side and the St Nicholas church and Castle on the other. The entrance is not very expensive and the staircase is steep but does not have too many stairs, hence was comfortable. This tower offers the best early morning views of Prague.

Walking along the old Prague can not carry a watch. From any point you can see at least one clock. And they show the time quite accurately. And the beauty of these watches (especially old ones) can not be argued.
Here is a chic clock on the tower that looked out from behind the houses. Photographed from the Charles Bridge.

Busy Charles Bridge, Prague

Prague's infamous Karlův most certainly is a beautiful landmark. For many years, it was the only bridge crossing the Vltava river and is the reason why Prague became an important city for merchants. Today, Charles Bridge is a popular and crowded sightseeing spot for tourists.

I decided to share a picture of the same subject as the one in the post but with another view. With this view, you can see from where the picture of the post was taken. And I took mine on the last step of the stairs. So this is pretty much the first thing you see when you climb the hill.

I like gothic. It is strict but not boring at the same time. Beautiful Gothic buildings create their own special atmosphere. The only difficulty in photographing such a beautiful and adorable building as a town hall is to hide these tourists)
Prague town hall

havent been in czech, yet ,, but im planing to next summer

check out the photos from my last blog entry 😉

This is from a touristy spot but not the main touristy spot in Czech Republic. Down south is a city called Karlovy Vari ( Which I'm sure @czechglobalhosts ) has been too. It truly looks like a little storybook town. With a river flowing around and through the city. It is of the most beautiful cities I have visited, and it is a Czech gem that not everyone gets to visit. Karlovy Vari.jpg

I heard that Prague is a beautiful city. I would love to visit it.

Amazing photos, I adored! Nice work, keep going. Waiting for next posts.

Thanks @czechglobalhosts! You pick my Photo, that's amazing 😃

We visited Prague in late autumn and there were still the lovely yellow leaves on the trees. With the sun, pretty coloured leaves and the city in the background, it was just a photo moment. Personally if I had to choose again, I might a bit earlier in autumn as it was already very cold when we arrived.

Miluju Brno! I took this picture in 2011 during my first trip to Brno, which is not far away from my home town in Austria. I spent a whole day walking through the city of Brno and found it pretty amazing, as it's an old town full of details, nice architecture, and some surprising details (such as a fluffy turquoise hippo hanging on the church below - you can't see it in this picture). Looking forward to going back soon!
