7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #24 – winner announcement!

@racheleecious Asian Sunday entry:

This was taken last year when we go to a trip in Albay, Philippines. This is the perfect coned shape volcano, the Mayon Volcano. I took this picture because of the perfect reflection of its image in the ricefield with water. This volcano explodes last January 2018. Mayon is the one of the many tourist destination here in the Philippines.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #24 – winner announcement!

@akirachang Australian Monday entry:

I took this photo at Brisbane story bridge. It is a heritage-listed steel cantilever bridge connecting northern and southern Brisbane. At night, the bridge's purple lights lit up half of the Brisbane river into a deep purple colour. Conjunction with the building light beside, It makes a great contrast at night. A really unique scenery in Brisbane Australia.

This is a photo I took of a sunset over the Pacific Ocean in Manhattan Beach, CA a few months ago. It was a lovely sunset, but I played around with the edit to make it a little more dramatic. One of the best parts of living in Southern California are the beautiful sunrises and sunsets we have here.

When the ocean is burning in fire and flammes... Magnificent capture my friend.

Wow that colour is amazing!

The colors are just amazing!

Tarifa sunset

Lovely sunset from Tarifa, Spain. The city is a Mecca for wind- and kitesurfers. During the Kite World Cup you'll see the pros like Ruben Lenten flying over the Tarifa pier.
Beside that you have beautiful sunsets and great seafood restaurants. Great town to have a relaxed vacation.

What a sunset! So peaceful!

Thanks Tomas:)

Well, since we still here very cold weather, then ICE SAGA continues. This time decided to go to Sventoji, a small city about 40km from Klaipeda as well at the coast of the Baltic Sea. And there are remains of pretty nice old wooden pier. And I know that after certain very cold days very possible to find some nice ice formations there. And I was right...

Wow thats amazing!

Thanks, mate! The weather is stunningly cold nowadays :D

I was wondering what was that and couldn´t figure it out until I read your comment. That is a great shot! Tomas

This shot was taken on the westernmost point of Europe, in Portugal. It was about 5PM and we were all there for the same reason: to watch the sun set behind the Atlantic Ocean. Never had I seen such strong and vibrant colours in the sky before -- the pictures barely needed any editing! It was a show to remember.

I love the colors on this one. The scale is great and there is such a feeling of peace and calmness.

Thank you! The sky was on fire that evening and the whole atmosphere was so peaceful. I loved it. Glad you enjoyed it too! :)

I am sure it was! Looks stunning. Have a great day and stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Moody days and a lighthouse on the west coast of Canada. Actually it's just outside of Vancouver (technically still westvan I think). It's a beautiful spot and feels about as wild as it gets so close to a city. I like climbing around on the rocks around the area....trying not to fall in.

Great shot! Thanks ever so much for sharing with everyone. Tomas

Manta52.jpg

Manta is my favorite animal underwater. These ones come from Mayotte. I developped there a project to identify Manta and follow them years after years. They also have their own name!! More informations here: http://www.atoll-mayotte.org

That is a very interesting animal! Great entry. Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Yes, i love this animal and spent so many hours with its underwater. I hope you will appreciate ;-) !!

This beautiful coast is located in the south of Spain at the Mediterranean Sea. It is called "Arrecife de las Sirenas". Numerous steep vulcanic cliffs are leading into the ocean and give this beach a unique look...

For this image I used a long exposure time to capture star trails.

It is amazing how many amazing images you have! You are AWESOME!

Not far from the major port of Halifax is the little village of Peggys Cove, now one of the biggest tourist destinations in the country because of the picturesque lighthouse that guards ships from the rocky Nova Scotia shore.

peggyscove.jpg

I love the settings in this image! Wonderful. Tomas

Thank you! :)

I took this picture on the north side of Sardinia in Italy. This side of the Island is a bit different from the so called European Caribic pictures you maybe knew from Sardinia. It is the hard and rocky Side... It was a stormy day, the sea was rough and I think the picture gives a good feeling about this atmosphere I'm talking about...

Morning on Praia do Pinhao in Lagos, Portugal. I wasn't sure I need to get off the bed that rainy morning and drive 30 km to this beach, but I glad I did it. A thin line of clear sky appeared on the horizon just in time to show let the rising sun enlighten everything around.

Thank you so much for this outsanding image! What a beauty!

I know Willyam Bradberry)) It's a pseudonym, my friend and colleague. His name is Vitaly Sokol.

I really like to dive in the Philippines. In some places you can swim in the surrounding of several turtles. When it comes to a group of photographers this is very cool. There are no problems. Everyone can find themselves a beautiful place and marine animals for shooting.
So I was able to go easy alone with this beautiful pair of sea turtles)

Thanky you so much for this wonderful entry! Tomas

I capture this picture when we were flying out of Rarotonga, Cook islands in the early morning. Rays of sunlight was passing through the clouds to shine on the mountain landscape at the centre of the island. It was said that we have to go, but at least we were treated with this beautiful one last view of the island.

CavesBeachSunrise.jpg

Looking out at sunrise over the Pacific Ocean from within a cave at Caves Beach. The beach is between Sydney and Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. The cave is only accessible for a period at low tide and so requires you to time the tides with the sunrise.

global oceany.jpg

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a coastal town in Limón Province in southeastern Costa Rica. It is a popular tourist and surfing destination best known for the biggest and most powerful waves in Costa Rica. The image was taken last year.

It is possible to watch dolphins very often in various seas and oceans. These animals like to accompany the ships and boats, playing and frolicing nearby.
And here to find the place where in the wild nature it is possible to swim for a while and dive near these surprising sea inhabitants, not so simply. In 2012 I have for this purpose gone to Mozambique where in warm waters of the Indian Ocean there were several surprising meetings.

First light, when the wind is as light as a breath, there is a split second of perfect suspense - before all energy of the wave is unleashed. To get this angle you must be in the playground of mother nature, looking from within. Black and white for depth of soul.

Here's another picture I took while on my 7 day excursion to Antarctica. Penguins have always been one of my favorite animals in the world and being able to see them in person in the wild was like I was in a dream. Other than the smell this photo was one of my favorites from my trip.

longreefsteemit.png

First light unveiled the biggest swell in a generation. The East Coast of Australia was pounded by huge waves and king tides over two days causing millions of dollars in damage but in amongst the chaos brave souls found themselves in some of the biggest waves in memory on Australia's East Coast.
I remember arriving here in the dark and knowing just by the sound of the ocean from the car park today would be an epic day, June 6th 2015.
Getting to the top of the headland, first light had just started to creep over the horizon and i was greeted by monsters like the one in this picture pounding the many reefs off of Long Reef headland. The face of this wave would be easily 30ft. Just a shame there was no one out there to give scale!

Awesome stuff brother!

Thanks mate @youareyourowngod, loved your pic also :)

Swimming like a fish within the shoal. I'm amazed by the coral and the sea life. Snorkeling gas become since a passion and a pleasure. I even tried diving and to be honest, every time I go underwater, I'm in heaven.

Location: the Western reef, Australia.

Chilling by the vast ocean in Maldives, the table by the edge is the place for breakfast! God's creation is stunning as always, especially in this precious Maldives Island~ Its true beauty will never fade even if one day it may be gone due to rising sea level. Blue is still my favourite colour of all times and the different shades of blue is simply remarkable!

The sea is a work of art and this photo seems to be made by the same god, the photo is of the Venezuelan seas, in the Atlantic Ocean there is the Caribbean Sea, with many shades of blue in its waters and reflected in it the sky, This sunset is in "la guaira" near the military navy. Venezuela
state: Vargas

This picture was taken at Portugal. Its a small town out of Lisbon and the view there is absolutely stunning. You can ride bikes around the city and you can stop and take photos anytime as not many people are around. There are so much to see you can do it one full day or if you want to do it slowly, can be in done two days.

Not far from the shore of Lady Elliot Island lies the Severance Wreck. This largely intact wreck makes for a great little start to the dive and was followed by abundant marine life encounters afterwards.

caye caulker belice.jpg

On a trip to Belize looking for turquoise waters, beautiful seabeds, and its unique Caribbean rhythm, and all that we found in an island called Cayo Caulker, one of the things that struck me most in this trip was having met the second largest barrier reef in the world after the australian one, it is totally beautiful, all the marine animals that can be observed, really snorkeling on this island was a paradise and an unforgettable experience.

I love scuba diving. It is a nice way to relax and explore the beautiful under water world. This photo is taken during one of the wreckdives in the Red Sea Egypt.

Also, it's from Wyoming, inland USA, not the coast or ocean. ;)

Here's a shot of the beach at Honolulu, Hawaii. It's a wonderful place to visit as it is summer all year long there. I've visited with friends in December and we could enjoy the ocean very day.

Shot this picture on a wild boat ride back from Seal Island, when I was helping out on a cage diving vessel. Sadly we didn't see many white sharks that day, but luckily Ernest always has a trick up his sleeve to make it a worthwhile tour for the customers.
