Photo taken during a hike: View of Lion's Head with our favourite flower the Protea in the foreground - Cape Town South Africa. "Lion's Head is a mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, between Table Mountain and Signal Hill. Lion's Head peaks at 669 metres above sea level. Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of South African flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes or Fynbos. In local tradition, the Protea flower represents change and hope."

According to local belief, Mount Bromo is the name of the Main God in Hinduism. Active volcanoes in East Java, Indonesia. It has a height of 2,329 meters above sea level. The Tenggerese are native settlers around the mountain, believing that this mountain has magical powers that can protect their lives.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #38 - winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

Already Monday again :-) Today I show you a photo from my first trip to New Zealand back in 2014. The weather on the North Island wasn't very good and we had to cancle many of our plans. But down in the south-east at Castlepoint a spell of sunny weather was forecast. So we drove down there and it was a great decision. The Castlepoint Lighthouse with Castlerock in the distance is such a beautiful subject to photograph. And asside from that there's also a beautiful beach and some steep cliffs to explore.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #38 - winner announcement!

@amyalfatasya Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Enjoy the beauty of the beach and the sunset in the "puloet" (Aceh). The beach is located at the end of "Great Aceh" and travels about 50 kilometers from the city "Banda Aceh" The sea is directly opposite the strait of the Indies. In addition to offering beauty, the waves on this beach is quite large and tall. This beach is rarely visited because of the ferocity of the waves.

A female lion enjoying the shadow of a tree. This picture was taken in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. If you want to go on a safari there, just ask around in Chobe. There are plenty of tour operators, who offer you good deals.

How cute that is:).....

Beside her was her little puppy, he or she was even cuter :)

Chobe National Park, Botswana.
It was a wonderful experience of game drive at the Chobe National Park. You get really close to observe the behaviour and action of wild life in the park. But many animals means many tourists.

Early morning at Luxor, Egypt. Just before the sunrise and was lucky to catch a bit of morning fog already colored by the rising sun. Shot at Luxor from the upper deck of a cruise ship with a long tele-photo lens.
The small boat out there add some more interest to the landscape

Enjoy the scenery :)

Thank you so much for your entry.

Houses of Tangier, Morocco

Tangier was the first place I visited in Morocco. I enjoyed walking around the beautiful old town and see these pretty houses overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The proximity to Europe has left a distinct European influence in some of the architecture around Tangier.

Sun rises on all mortal men
Lightens up all caves and dens
Where visions sprout like young plants
Into forests of giants

Night falls on a dark, dampened sky
Where fading silver lines
strive to precede the clouds
Mysteries yet unfold

Until nothing is left to be told
Until all hearts become stone cold...
This picture was taken in the evening in Abuja, Nigeria's federal capital.

The lioness is waking with a yawn to great the other as the sun rises across the Serengetti in Tanzania. There really aren't words to describe the amazing feeling as you witness the early morning sun on the Serengetti and the animals wake for the day.

Beautiful Africa!

Sunset in the desert of Douz Tunisia

Given the sweltering heat and the hot desert sun, all excursions / tours (whether by camel, quad, buggy, etc.) are usually scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon when the the sun rises or sets. We went to the Grande Dune Offra at 16h by dromedary through the "sea of sand", so we had the chance to watch the sunset, reddish, between the dunes and see how it changes color is a beautiful show. The only problem was that we had suffered a nasty sandstorm (apparently in spring they are very common), where we literally ate the sand dunes.

Thank you so much for your entry in today´s contest.

kenya antilope.png

In this photo it is in Kenya, an East African country, where when passing in the safari jeep I have found these unique antelopes in the early hours of the day, where they were in droves looking for food for themselves and their young. This country is very beautiful because of the care they give to wild animals, they all have a lot of respect for it, it is something to admire.

Your image is truly stunning! Thank you for your participation.

Marsa Alam - Egypt

Please add a 30 word description to your image for it to be considered for the contest !

This photograph was taken by a Polish photographer named Witold Ziomek. This is not your photo, plus it was taken in Myanmar, not Africa.
