Tourism booming in Czech Republic: more than 10 million foreign visitors last year!

I love traveling to major cities with tons of activity and energy, like Hanoi, Vietnam. But within cities like this, it's great to find small green oases where locals go to relax, unwind, and get away from the daily grind of the big city. In Hanoi, one of those places is Thong Nhat Park. It's a small park nestled right in the middle of the city where people can exercise or simple enjoy the view. It was a lovely way to recharge before returning to explore more of Hanoi!
!
Thank you so much for your submission. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas

Longtail Boat in Thailand
In the Andaman Sea in southern Thailand, longtail boats are a great way of transport for getting to closeby islands. I captured this photo on the way between the two Ko Phi Phi islands, Ko Phi Phi Leh and Ko Phi Phi Don.

The majestic Taj-Mahal made of white marble. Build for a princess and unfortunately used as a tomb where she sleeps for ever.
The roof is made of Star Diopside Gems that shine like stars when the moon is full.
This is a magnificent place to see and visit.
Location: Agra, India.
upvoted & followed! people of yesterday's were just so great :)
Totally agreed, the construction from the past are leaving modern builders with so many questions 😀
That's such a wonderful photo! Congratulations!!!!
Thank you 😀, I found the place very inspiring
What a wonderful photo! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us here on Steemit! Tomas
Anytime Tomas. Thanks for the compliment 😉
Here's something from Cambodia. Last year I visited Angkor Wat for a few days and on this morning I went to Ta Prohm. As all of Angkor this place gets very crowded during day, but if you arrive early you can have it nearly for yourself for half an hour. I was usually waiting at the gate to open and then quickly went to the spots I had scouted the days before to photograph them without any people in the frame.
How can we compete?
That is a stunning image! Thank you for putting it out there. Tomas
I remember going here 3 years ago and I saw this hut with its roof filled with nipa leaves. Just this winter break vacation, I went to the same beach (Binsang Beach) and saw that this nipa hut is not taken cared. It was abandoned....The only remaining structure left was the foundation.
Hi! Welcome back. I have not seen you participating in quite a while. What a great picture to put out there after your short silence. Have a great day. Tomas

Well I missed the deadline for NA last Friday , so here is my Entry from Asia !
Pangong Tso Lake in Ladhak , India. This lake extends from India to China ! I photographed this during my motorcycle road trip. To get to the Panglake we had to ride 4 hours from Leh town through the rough mountains roads in sub zero weather. There is a stream 'Pagal Nala' with needs to be crossed(no bridge) to get to the lake. One had to cross the river earlier in the day because the water level and under current rise later on and literately becomes impossible to cross in this remove region. We reached late in the evening but somehow we managed to cross it ! We camped at the lake for a night !
What a stunning picture. Thank you so much for sharing. Tomas

Popularly known as Little Tibet, Spiti is nestled in the Himalayan Mountain range in Himachal Pradesh. Picture was clicked in Dec 2017. It is surrounded by mountains and glaciers, villages perched on mountain crests, quaint old monasteries, crystal clear rivers and streams. People in this region are very simple.
Thank you so much for your submission. I love the color composition. Tomas

Forbidden City - Beijing - China
In the north of the Forbidden City is the Jingshan Park. We walked up to the top of the hill in the middle of the park. As you can see the view is just remarkable above the Forbidden City and Beijing itself. It was really funny that about 100-200 photographers had already set up their tripods to take photos of the sunset. You can image the "clicking" sounds ... 😂

Toyama, Japan
There are lots of castles all over Japan, and somehow the all resemble themselves in shape and appearance. Toyama Castle is one the smaller once and maybe a little bit off the beaten path. It's on Japan's west coast, but if you happen you come along you definitely should pay a visit.

The Asian region is probably the most interesting for a diver. There are many islands with a rich underwater world. Today I would like to share a photo from the island of Moneron. This is a very unusual island. It is located on the border of the warm current of Kuroshio and the cold water of the Sea of Okhotsk. Due to this, the fauna of warm and cold seas is mixed there.
There are corals here. But there are northern sea lions and seals.
And all this in surprisingly transparent water. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to get to the island. We managed to do this only thanks to the help of the Russian Geographical Society.
upvoted & followed you :)
Thank you!
I will try not to disappoint!)
It's good to know...... Will have that at the back of my mind

Sri Lanka is a fabulous destination for train travels. The trains are an inexpensive way to get around, and they are going through beautiful scenic regions, packed with fun cultural experiences as well. I shot this photo of the coastal train ride in Colombo, the capital city.

This shot was captured at the top of the Marriot Hotel in Bangkok, which is actually looks towards my local neighbourhood. The hotel is just the right height allowing you to get a closer look of the area. It gives a totally different perspective of the city, providing more intrigue from a bird's eye view.
There are more details if you check out my article about this photo.

Yungang caves, near Datong, China last spring.
The caves were amazing; more than 50 000 statues. Some very small and deteriorated and some as big as 15 meters high.
This photo comes from one of the well-protected caves; we can see the original colors and the detail of the engravings.

I took this photo in November 2017 in the area of Vang Vieng in Laos. On this day we rented bicycles to explore the area. Vang Vieng with its almost untouched nature is a paradise for individual active vacationers and photographers. Vang Vieng is a tourist hotspot north of Vientiane, on the Nam Song River in Laos. There are many tourists, but you can find your own quiet place in this beautiful nature.

This photography was taken last September on Bali. As part of Southeast Asia, they have one of the nicest rice plantations on Earth. This photography represents symbol of Indonesia. It is hard working nation, where their main source of food is rice. They have so well organized rice plantations, which also reflect in amazing photographies.

Lijiang is a well preserved 1,000+ year old town in the Yunnan province of China (near Tibet). The Mu family residence made up a large section of the old town, and their private temple can be seen on the left towering above the rest of the village. The old town of Lijiang a touristy destination now (mostly within Asia), but it's still worth a visit. Unlike the stone and masonry buildings in Europe from this era, these structures were built almost entirely from wood, so it's amazing that they have survived for over a millennium.

In July 2017, I went to my village which is about 70 km from Allahabad, India. I had already heard about Belan Dam but never got time to visit beacuse I lived most of my life away from my home town. It is about 70 years old constructed to solve the problem of water for agriculture.

Katsura Imperial Villa is special thanks to its fine architecture and garden, of which is said to be one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens in Japan. Situated in a quiet area of southwest Kyoto, the designers painstakingly planned this property to have high aesthetic ideals, placing beauty above all.

Kinkaku-ji or Temple of the golden pavilion is located in Kinkakujicho, Kita, Kyoto Prefecture Japan. The temple has three stories high with different Japanese architectural design. It surrounded with pond (with Koi fish) and some beautiful trees, great to visit this heritage tourist spot during autumn and winter ( with snow). The japanese landscape and garden are perfect for promenade.
I've been here twice, wayback 2009 and 2011 with my friends. It opens at 9am to 5pm. I think we payed 400 yen each for the entrance fee(I forgot already). From Kameyama Prefecture to Kyoto, it took 2hrs and 40 minutes approximately, by local train JR railway.

A Lesser Fish Eagle takes flight on the lush banks of the Kinabatangan River in Sabah, Borneo. These majestic birds among many more are endangered due to habitat loss. The fragile ecosystem of the ancient rain forest is being cut down for palm oil, which threatens all the inhabitants. BE CONTIOUS about what you buy, read the ingredients. By not supporting the palm oil industry you make a difference in saving forests all around the world!
I feel truly blessed to have visited the river, which provided some amazing sightings and photographic opportunities. Follow me for a photo blog on Borneo coming soon!

The only place I've been in "Asia" (I suppose this is considered Asia) is the vibrant and surprising Israel. Unfortunately I wasn't much of a photographer back then (2011), so my attempts at creativity failed, but at least I captured this iconic view of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
