There's a sad story behind this photo. This is the Yellow Bridge that connects the islands of Lembongan and Ceningan off the southeast coast of Bali. I took this photo in November of 2015. This bridge was made for pedestrians, bicycles, and motorbikes to cross between the two islands. When I walked across, there were some planks missing, and when a motorbike crossed with me, the bridge would sway. I wouldn't say I felt unsafe but it did give me pause. Sadly, in December 2016, the bridge collapsed killing 8 people. Apparently, the bridge was especially busy that day due to a Hindu festival. By March 2017, a bigger, better Yellow Bridge replaced the fallen one that thankfully is much safer and even includes bright lights for the nightfall. While it's heartbreaking that people lost their lives, I'm glad a better, safer bridge is now in place for the locals and tourists to cross the islands.
High above HK
Hong Kong is such a special city. You have the a huge skyline in front of the mountains with Victoria Peak, the ocean with a lot of islands all arounds and of course a lot of western / British influences. You can take a tram up to Victoria Peak to have a great view above the city. If you want to have a fancy dinner, just visit the Hutong restaurant in the 28th floor. But be sure to have a reservation. Have a great week everybody!!!
That is the spot I am going to go when in HK:)....
The photo was taken on the bus ride from Kurokawa Onsen to Fukuoka, Kyushu Island. Mt. Aso area is so surreal and scenic. The trip took around 3 hours and I couldn't stop capture shots on the way.

The last minutes of light on Danjugan Island. This island is a special place, it is one of the few Filipino islands that is near fully protected. The sunsets were an added bonus!
Amazing shot!
Nice sunset 🌅👌
Trekking in the Himalaya is an adventure for some and a routine for others! I crossed path with this Tibetan lady living in the mountain as she was walking down the valley to do her shopping. A harder walk than you can imagine :)
Location: The Himalaya, Nepal.
Breath-taking! Amazing image.
Thank you very much.
wow! Amazing!
Glad you like it, thanks a lot :)
That place are very amazing hamaliya
When I was cycling to Lahsa, I was attracted by this stunning lake view -- Sisters lake. It is located between Batang and Litang County, in Sichuan Province, China. The melting ice of the mountain (Haizishan) formed the lake and made this amazing view.
I love your image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
Thx so much, Tomas!
Here's my entry for Asian challenge this week :)
This is Gili Lawa Darat, an island in the north east of Komodo. The island is almost seen as a desert barren savanah which wholly covered by grass. I went here on dry season so the island almost look brown everywhere, which will be a different scene during rainy season when all is green grass. On this trip i was staying overnight on the boat, and woke up early , do trekking up to the summit and capture this beautiful sunrise. Hope you guys like it ;)
I am short of words! Just stunning.
😊 thanks Tomas
I spend a week in Singapore and fell in love with the city. Most iconic sights in singapore are the marina bay sands, gardens by the bay and chinatown. but you'll find beauty everywhere. Ill just sat down here besides the science museum and captured singapores skyline reflecting in the water. with long exposure of course ;D
Wow nice reflection 👌
Splendid image! Thank you so much for your submission. Tomas
Hello Tomas :)
For this Asian photo challenge, I am using a photo of Taipei City, Taiwan.
(If you'd like to see the photo in full resolution, please click here, to see it in my Flickr album.)
It's taken from a small hill called Elephant Mountain just next to the city. It's actually quite easy to get up there (it's only about 1 hour walk from the nearest metro station), but the view is really breathtaking. I'd say it's the best view of Taipei City that you can get. The tall building is the Taipei101 which used to be the tallest building in the world after they built it (not anymore though...). It's definitely one of my favorite spots in Taiwan!
Beautiful cityscape 🌆😊
Amazing shot! Glad to see you participating. Tomas
This is my photo taken during a trip to Sa Pa in Lao Cai province, Vietnam. Sa Pa Town is located in Lao Cai Province, north-west Vietnam, close to the border with China. Sapa Town is famous both for its fine, rugged scenery and for its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is oriented to make the most of the spectacular views emerging on clear days; it overlooks a plunging valley, with mountains towering above on all sides. Views are often subdued by thick mist rolling across the peaks, but even when it's cloudy, local hill-tribe people fill the town with colour.
Hello and welcome to the challenge! What a fabulous picture you are shaing with everyone. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming later on today. Tomas
Really thank you very much.!!! Tomas
Hey @czechglobalhosts 😊
This is my entry for your Asian Photo Contest.
This was taken in Singkurong Brunei Darussalam 🇧🇳
It’s the first expensive country that I’ve been to. Me and @wanderingdanish stayed there for three days. It was more than enough to go around. Make sure not to go there during Ramadan. Shops, restaurants closed after 4pm. We were lucky to have a very nice airbnb host who showed us around. I forgot the exact name of the place though. We just passed by it and had a quick shot.
wow nice design ,,,where is it located ?
It’s in Brunei 🇧🇳
Love it! Amazing photo, and the place is just beautiful!
It’s beautiful indeed. 😊
Tonight I’m staying in one of my favorite cities. Panda-city Tokyo. 🐼🗼
The view from my friends apartment is just great, and the weather is splendid. What a contrary to the area where I just left from.
From white to blue in 2 hours.
Everyone is used to the fact that photos from Asia are filled with warmth and sunshine. But there is another Asia - very cold. For example, in the city of Magadan, which is located in Russia, on the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, frosts reach -40C in winter. And even in the spring, in March, when this photo was taken, the street was -20C. And in the photo you see nothing but a frozen sea.
Happy Chinese New Year! We took this picture of Taipei 101 one year over Chinese New Year. This tower is an icon for Taipei and many firework celebrations would use this tower as a feature building. For some reason while we were there, it was very foggy but made this picture extra special for us. The messages on the tower are people who request to have them on for a short period of time.
This is my entry for the #sunday Asian challenge
This is beautiful kashmir valley and the pictures is located in srinagar kashmir " This is beautiful dal lake and there you can see beautiful house boat ... these boat are usually use as a lake view hotel on the some of house boat fishermen family's also used to live.. hope you will like it .

Hi this is my entry for Asia Challenge this week
The Great wall of China , a truly magnificent scenery and a must see in Beijing. I visited there in 2016 and it was my first trip to Beijing. I did not expected the whole architecture was built on the top of the mountains with stone, brick and wood. I cannot imagine the difficulty even with today's technology to build this wall on the rural mountain top.
I hope you like it ~ and thank you for the contest
This is my entry for the contest. This picture has been taken in Hue, Vietnam in late afternoon. In Asia boats are used not only as a method of transportation but also a way to do market. It's not unusual to see floating market there.
This is my entry for the Asian Sunday. This photo shows you an Longtail Boat at the Loh Lana Bay on the beautiful island of Koh Phi Phi.
Koh Phi Phi or also known as Phi Phi Island, is group of islands and a famous and popular holiday location. It's one of the best islands in Thailand.
For full view, please click on the image!
This is my entry for todays Contest. The photo was taken on the Philippines in Bohol. At sunset we went to the Beach once again and this is when I saw this beauty! The boats and the ocean with the sun in the background.
Philippines is famous for its islands and nature landscapes. It is compared to Europe quite inexepensive and definitely worth a visit!
I took this photo on our walk through the hills in Northern Vietnam. The women of the northern Hmong people guided us through the trails to our final destination. We stayed over night in a huge open room. Every step was a new experience.
Sunrise from Poon Hill.
Few months back, I had gone trekking to Poon Hill, Myagdi, Nepal where, I had captured this photo with my Samsung Galaxy S6.
I have heard it's ideal for diving around that area. Even if the islands name is Shark island, there are no sharks there. The site gets it's name from the shape of the island. If you use your imagination, it may look like the dorsal fin of a giant shark!
Shark Island
Location: Koh Tao, Thailand.
A view of the skyline of Hong Kong from the Victoria Harbour. It combines the modern with the skyscrapers and the traditional, as the ferry in the foreground of the image.
The B&W format gives the image an interesting atmosphere, since it was quite misty at the moment of taking this photo.
A shot of a Japanese Macaque or Snow Monkey that was engaging in some serious eye contact with my camera. It was taken at the hot springs (or onsen) that feeds into the valley of the Yokoyu-River at Jigokudani Yaen Koen. Literally meaning "Hell's Valley", Jigokudani was named after the steam and boiling water that bubbles out of small crevices in the frozen ground which is surrounded by steep cliffs. Nagano Prefecture, Japan

Yes, it is a problem! And huge actually that is called theft! The same goes for the image that you submitted to my Prague photo sharing challenge claiming it as yours even though it is copied of the internet. No need to make any excuses for this one, I guess another friend. There is absolutely no space on this platform for such behavior!
Guilin, China. We arrived in Guilin quite late, and by the time we get there it was late afternoon. We were determine to do some sightseeing though, and went to the Seven Star Park and joined the last cave tour of the day before it closed. The ancient cave system is full of beautiful stalagmite and stalactite of different sizes and shapes. Most of which they named according to their shape. I cant remember the name of this particular one, but I remember being amazed at how beautiful and surreal it looked under the coloured lights.
Baguio City
Baguio City, summer capital, is located in the northern part of Luzon in the Philippines. One of the most famous festival in the country is held here which is the Panagbenga festival which revolves around the indigenous culture, music and folk dance. A must visit city if you are in the country.
Thailand; the home of Muay Thai is high up on my list of places to visit...
Annapurna Circuit Trekking
The Annapurna Circuit of Nepal is one of the world classic trek. More than 40,000 trekkers come here each year. The trek takes you through Rhododendron forests and over the foothills of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. The main attractions are:
• Crossing the world's widest pass, the Thorong La Pass at 5416 meter.
• Seeing the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki gorge.
• Varying landscapes, local mountain villages, and Buddhist monasteries.
nice pictures with great info :)
Thank you friends. Please feel free to visit this wonderful country gifted with natural beauty🙂

You can check here. This was clicked by friends of mine. I am in second(the one showing two finger with pink jacket and carrying black bag). The above photo I had commented was when I clicked while returning from trek and the snow had melted and it was sunny. The photo on link that was taken by my friend went viral over Nepali media and every travel web page have kept this one image in their website to promote their business.
How do you explain the images that you submitted to my Prague photo sharing challenge? I need you to prove an ownership of the one from yesterday and the day before yesterday.
I apologize for that one sir. Actually it wasn't mine photo. A friend of mine studying in poland sent it to me so that I can comment here. I regret my mistake sir😥. Sorry Sir if I have caused trouble to you for my inappropriate activities and violation of your terms. Please forgive me for my misactivites. I swear it will not happen again next time.
A place where nature defies logic or perhaps logic cannot comprehend nature. To all nature photography lovers, this is Kalinchowk situated 3842m above sea level. Seems like the edge of the world and just beyond, heaven’s gates await and yet these clouds refuse to reveal it.
Location: Dolakha, Nepal
Random picture from Malaysia. We stayed till sunset on Penang Island and just caught the last boat out, literally had the people wait for about 10-20 minutes so we would get some more pictures.
The white temple in Chiang Rai, Wat Rong Khun. The hands coming out of the ground symbolize unrestrained desire that reach towards each person. The bridge symbolizes the path to heaven which is guarded by two creatures representing death which judge each person before they can enter the gates of heaven.
The temple was incredible and the design second to none compared to the countless temples I visited while in Thailand. While it was a long trip to get to the temple, it was well worth the visit and experience.
I took the picture a year ago while visiting Lumbini, Nepal- The birthplace of Lord Buddha. The picture was taken by me with a canon 1100D and retouched.
Tip: Rotate image 180 degrees.
Sunrise over Cemoro Lawang, Java, Indonesia.
The morning started real early for us at 3.30am. Most of the other travellers would be up an hour or two later to get motorbikes and jeeps to the top to watch their Bromo sunrise but not us!
We were going to do the 3 hour trek up the mountain to see it. Partly to avoid the extortionate fees for a trip to the top but also because we felt the experience would be all the more rewarding for the hard work. We were not disappointed!
This is the Cheong-gye cheon stream in central seoul. it runs from the city hall all the way through the oldest district in seoul and then into the main river. For a while the original stream was covered by a highway that ran the entire length, however around the turn of the century the government decided to scrap the highway and turn it into a public park and stream. Further along the stream there are still remnants of the old highway as reminders of what it used to be, reminding them where they came from.
This is my entry for @czechglobalhosts
This picture was taken during my trip to Godawari Botanical Garden ,Nepal where I tried to capture a real detail of water drops on the leaf with colorful beautiful butterfly...This the nature beauty of Nepal!!! This was my one of the best shot taken during my trip to nature!! Nature is great.
This is a picture taken inside the royal residence palace of Mysore in the southern Karnataka state of India. The palace is a popular attraction for domestic and international tourists with more than 6 million people visiting every year, and you can see why! Besides the Palace, Mysore is a great place to relax and hang out for a few days longer than originally planned :-)
This is my entry for the contest held by @czechglobalhosts.
The area called "Kachai" a small town in Kohat KPK Pakistan, is most beautiful and stunning area in Pakistan. The area is rich in nature's beauty and people from outside visit here to enjoy its beauty and natural greenery. The area is surrounded by green hills and mountains. There are several water springs. In short the area is incredibly beautiful destination for nature enthusiasts. For more pics visit my blog @irshadhussain
This place is situated in Jharkhand state of India. This place is known as Sammed Shikhar and it is a holy place for religion of Jain devotee. I visited this place 2 years back. The pilgrimage to Shikharji is a round trip of 27 km and devotee climb the hill by foot to cover 27 KM round, it takes around 18 hours to go and come back.
This photo I captured by my Canon 600D Camera.
Thanks!
I was in Dubai almost two years ago and fell in love with this city. They really have stunning architecture, people are very friendly, you have a lot to do… On the photo below you can see the highest building of our world - Burj Khalifa.

The Great Wall of China
I lived in Beijing China for 4 years, and worked 6 days a week in a theme park doing stunt shows. On my day of I would always love to go to the great wall to get away from the BIG city. Here is a photo I took which is part of the Badaling Great Wall. It is the easiest part of the wall to get to with public transport . I had visited the Great wall over 20 times ( only the same part twice ) while I lived in Beijing. The Landscape is amazing :)
This is my entry for Asia photography contest..this is a Buddhist temple located in Nepal,Pokhara.. actually it is my first traveling by money I earn in steemit..Pokhara is small town but it really beautiful by its nature.i have taken many photos there and I want to share all of those photos but for now I choose this one.I hope you like it.
Hello @ czechglobalhosts , this is such a lovely sight. You captured every moment very well. i still remember few details about the pulangbato;
Pulangbato Falls is located in the Ocoy Valley in the town of Valencia Negros OrientalIt is aptly named so because of the waterfall’s seemingly red river water which is caused by the presence of natural reddish rocks found in the area. Pula is the native word for red while bato, for rock. Thus, if interpreted, the name would be red rock just as you have described.
Like many other waterfalls, swimming lagoons and pools in the town of Valencia, Pulangbato Falls is blessed with calm and refreshing waters. This is mainly because of Valencia’s geography – 60% of its land composition being hilly and mountainous – that the climatic temperature is always moderate to cool.
Pulangbato Falls has a wide cascade. The water pours down into a swimming hole that is also deep enough for high dives. Enthusiasts clamber up to a nearby rock that functions as a diving point and free fall into the water basin. The shape of Pulangbato Falls has been considered unique because of its layered structure. At the first tier, the cascade begins narrowly and widens progressively as it moves down the next levels. At a distance, the waterfalls look triangular in shape
This is a great contest, sure would participate. Thanks!
Here is my entry for Asian photo challenge. Beautiful sunset over Kyrenia mountain range, Northern Cyprus. I took this photo from abandoned Buffavento castle situated on an altitude of 960 meters above sea level.
Challenge is Asia!
Beautiful post.
