Hello fellow Steemians!

Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Australia. I am also adding New Zealand to the same challenge as there were some concerns from other Steemians as to which continent NZ belongs to.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Please see the winner of Asian Sunday and give him your support if you like his image to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for him by upvoting his winner announcement post below:

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #24 – winner announcement!

@racheleecious Asian Sunday entry:

This was taken last year when we go to a trip in Albay, Philippines. This is the perfect coned shape volcano, the Mayon Volcano. I took this picture because of the perfect reflection of its image in the ricefield with water. This volcano explodes last January 2018. Mayon is the one of the many tourist destination here in the Philippines.

Lake Tekapo,NZ - Fun photo

The famous Lupin flowers are found in the entire Mackenzie region. I read in a blog post that families in the 1950s sowed lupin seeds "to beautify" the country. Best time to see the flower fields is December.
I like this photo because it shows the beauty of Lake Tekapo, the snow covered mountains, the purple lupin flowers and shows a typical scene you find all over the world: Ladies, mostly girls and their moms, sitting between flowers and old man with huge cameras taking photos 😂

The lupins are so beautiful. Did you see Mt Cook from Lake Tekapo?

Actually we didn't see Mt Cook from there. But later on our journey:)

Truly colorful image!

This was taken at Darling Harbour, Sydney. Darling Harbour is the entertainment hub in Sydney, full of many restaurants and bars. It is also where many events and festivals take place, with fireworks on most Saturday nights. On a quite night though, the harbour can be as calm as a mirror, offering beautiful reflection of the Sydney CBD like this picture here.

What a beautiful shot and entry! Thank you so much for sharing with everyone. Tomas

Thank you very much Tomas!

I took this photo at Brisbane story bridge. It is a heritage-listed steel cantilever bridge connecting northern and southern Brisbane. At night, the bridge's purple lights lit up half of the Brisbane river into a deep purple colour. Conjunction with the building light beside, It makes a great contrast at night. A really unique scenery in Brisbane Australia.

Beautiful shot! Glad to see you here! :)

Thank you~ actually you told me/everyone about this 😀

=) Fun challenge right? And @kcaj88 won the Asian one when he joined it the first time.

Fantastic shot! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Thank you 😊 Tomas~

This is the place I call home at the moment. Well, I mean I’m living not far from this lookout, but the Glass House Mountains area is actually a spiritual home for Aboriginal people. I just never get tired of the splendid sunset over these volcanic peaks.

this is astonishing! The colours are fantastic and what a view :)

So beautiful! How far is it from Sunshine Coast?

This is actually the hinterland of Sunshine Coast. :) I moved from the coast to here as it's less hot and greener. :)

Wow! The colors are just astonishing!

Thanks Tomas! =)

The Desert Field of the Northern Territory, Australia

I remember going outside the car as the scorching blazing sun was setting down on this vast empty field. I felt so isolated due to the fact that no one was around. A few animals here and there.

Love it! Great job!

Wow, amazing shot! The branches and the sunset are stunning.

The coast of New South Wales in Australia is home to hundreds of beautiful beaches like this one. You only have to drive an hour from Sydney and you will often find you have the entire beach to yourself.

Excellent as always! Thank you so much for your support and contribution! Tomas

Thanks Tomas!

The photo for Australian Monday is one I took in Sydney at the Vivid Light Festival that took place from May 26, 2017 to June 17, 2017.

During the festival, businesses and artists from Australia put up exhibits all around the downtown core. They range in small pieces that you can interact with to large scale pieces that are emitted on to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Great click! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Thank you so much for doing the contest!

I miss that festival and Sydney

Me too. It's such a beautiful festival!

The iconic landmark of Tasmania: Cradle mountain and Dove lake. This picture was taken during a hot summer hike, but no matter what season you visit Cradle mountain, expect to be surprised by the ever changing dramatic look of the Tassie wilderness.

The Grose Valley. My favorite Valley in all of the Blue Mountains National Park. I was fortunate enough to live just up the road from here for 3 years and spent many mornings here for sunrise. The volatility of the weather in the mountains meant most sunrises had something of interest to photograph and i now have a treasure trove of images of this valley in so many different states of it's nature. This is one of my favs!

Longtime nos see! Great comeback! Tomas

The 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road is one of Australia's most recognised coastal sites. These giant limestone stacks have been slowly eroding over time and soon new ones will form as the cliffs themselves are eaten away. Every time I visit here I'm treated to different conditions and colours. Even the bus loads of tourists that gather here every sunset don't take away from the splendour that is the 12 Apostles.

Another stunning image of yours! Excellent!

NaturalBridge.jpg

A three shot panorama of the Natural Bridge. It is a naturally formed rock arch over Cave Creek, a tributary of the Nerang River. It was formed from a waterfall which undercut a cave beneath the waterfall and dug a pothole on top, until the two joined and the creek flowed through the cave, leaving an arch across the front. The bridge is located in Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland of Queensland, Australia.

Amazing shot.

Sydney has some of the best views in the world and being able to live in this beautiful city is an advantage for photo enthusiast like myself. I love how the lights of Sydney Harbour reflecting on the water which is why I took a series of photos with this in mind.

Road tripping on the west coast of Australia, I've visited one of the most magnificent national park ever. Karinjini NP is just a gorgeous place where you can walk down many canyon and swim in beautiful natural pools. Just keep in mind to respect local traditions :)

Location: Karinjini NP, Western Australia.

This captures so well the Australian bush! Beautiful contrast of colors!

Thank you very much. I agree with you, it really describe very well the Australian bush :)

This was the photo that kick starts my traveling goal. Back in 2013, I've booked a one-way ticket to Melbourne, Australia to see the world out of my own country for the first time. Being on the plane along, traveling alone and experiencing the amazing local life with a friend I met. Soon I realized that there are good people all around the world. Since then, I made myself a promise to travel and meet more amazing people like him! This photo is credited to him, showing me around the beautiful city of Melbourne.

A shot of the Red Bluff coastal cliffs in the Kalbarri region (Western Australia). These cliffs tower 100 meters over the ocean below and are believed to be 400 million years old. There are some popular viewpoints along the main road that offer a view similar to the one in this shot, but this has been taken from Pot Alley.

Armidale New South Wales, Australia
This s my entry for today! Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. At first, I find it very quiet place since not many houses we see as we passed by but when I see this scenery. I started to love it.
On our way to Sydney we passed on this scenery. It makes feel I’m on my road to paradise. It’s very lovely place! I was fascinated by this scenery.

Francois Peron National Park.
It is a paradise for 4 wheel drive lovers.
Deflate your tyres and drive through the red soft sand to the red cliffs an beautiful beach, where you can see turtles, sharks and rays.

I took this shot just yesterday in Coffs Harbour. I was walking the Macauleys Headland Walk. The photo shows the first small Bay you come across. It has a Beach but is not suitable for swimming.

This was a beautiful glacier which I visited with my family - what I found amazing was the ease with which you could approach the glacier from the nearby village, and the fact that you walked through verdant rainforest to get to the glacier. Both the Fox Glacier and the nearby Franz Josef Glacier are readily available to visit and need to be seen to be appreciated!

On Waya Island we decided to take a hike in the mountains. I remember that it was very slippery all the way to the top because it had rained heavily the night before. The weather was hot and the humidity level was very high but it was worth it!

Beautiful pictures, especially that one made in the Philippines!

Just beautiful and also great photography

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
Loved this one ❤❤
