Hello fellow Steemians!
Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Europe.

Your entries need to be submitted by the midnight of Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. The rule number one is to use only personal images. Ten winning photos will receive an upvote from me from which I will pick one winner that will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts.
The winner of daily challenge then competes against winners from other continental challenges of the respective week to receive the price of 20 SBD. That will be decided by you based on the dollar value of upvotes of my winning post announcement. The winning weekly picture then automatically enters other rounds for the price of 200 SBD in total.
Please see the winners of the previous contests of the week and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for them by upvoting the winner announcement posts below:
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #17 – winner announcement!
@narchuk Asian Sunday entry:
At the Philippines I go to dive, most of the day I spend in the water or on a boat. Do not forget the night dive. As a result, I have very little time for sunrises and sunsets.
This time we returned from diving, and I watched the sun go down into the ocean. It happened at the moment when the boat hit the shore. I had to jump right into the water together with the underwater box. I did not have time to get another camera.
I was lucky. In addition to the beautiful sunset, I saw a turtle swimming alongside. A few minutes before it was dark, we swam together.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #17 – winner announcement!
@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:
Here's my favorite photo from New Zealand. I took it a year ago in Tongariro National Park. It was quite cloudy as we arrived in the Park and we couldn't see the peaks yet. But I hiked to Tama Lakes anyways, hoping for a change. As the clouds then broke and revealed Mount Ruapehu it was an awesome sight.

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:
Volcanoes in Baltic? What? You would say impossible? Well, that depends on the point of view in fact. Shot at very cold winter evening (if remember right was some -20 degrees) and with very low shooting point and extra wide lens. So visually its really looks like a volcano :D Enjoy the scenery!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – African Wednesday week #17 – winner announcement!
@pierrehugo African Wednesday entry:
As the drought becomes more apparent in the South African winter, two male Zebras compete in a dramatic display of kicking, biting and rearing up onto their hind legs. It was a great sighting to witness over half an hour. The result of such behavior led to a big dust cloud every time they attempted to establish dominance. This shot was taken in the famous Kruger National Park, which is a compulsory visit should you be traveling to this exquisite part of the world.

I've said this before, but Venice, Italy is one of my favorite cities in the world. It's one of those places that lives up to and even exceeds expectations. Being on a boat and riding through the canals was an incredibly memorable experience for me.
Beautiful shot! Love Venice too!
Thank you so much for taking part. However, we had an insane amount of entries today and others were selected to go further. Thank you for your understanding and have a great day. Tomas
One of my favourite images from Iceland, this photo was taken up on the lonely northern Strandir coast of the Westfjords, with the best sunrise of my two months on the island, and the hill in the background reminded me of Erebor, the Lonely Mountain from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. But this is the Atlantic ocean and the Greenland Sea, not the Long Lake.
Not even 24hrs since I showed you this contest and already such a picture to take part - Man, I guess you have good chances to win with your first contribution!
Great job! You are bringing me some world class photographers!
Thank you! It's nice to be able to share some of my favourite photos here to a fresh network. :)
Hi and welcome onboard! You certainly made a great entrance with this fabulous image. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement that will be coming later on today in a separate post. Tomas
Awesome, thank you, I will do that! :)
Since it's still winter I have a winter photo. This shot was taken on my first winter roadtrip from Barcelona to Munich in december 2017. I wanted to be in Germany with my family over christmas, so I decided to drive back. It was taken at Schloss Neuschwanstein with my dji mavic drone! This sure is an amazing place to visit! Highly recommend it, especially in Winter time!
Stunner! This castle is the Nr. 1 on my German travel list :)
Thanks :) It's really a great one and Hohenschwangau which is right next to it, is also real great!
Thank you so much for your contibution. What an excellent place!
I love to hike in the Alps. A few summers ago I went to the Allgäu region of the Alps and hiked up to the Rappensee Lake. I stayed in a moutain hut for the night, which allowed me to photograph during sunset. I had some wonderful conditions that evening with the soft evening light on the lush mountain meadows around the lake.
Beautiful!
Beautiful as always:)
Stunning image man, respect!
Just have to agree with the rest of the comments:)....
A cold winter morning in port of Klaipeda, Lithuania. Golden sun in a port aquatory with a moving ship. Shot from the bridge of another vessel moored in port
Enjoy the scenery!

Beautiful scene!
wow, that's a nice sunset 👏
Sunrise in fact, but changes really nothing, still beautiful :)
Wow that is simply stunning!
Not much to say! Just stunning.
This shot was taken on my very first trip to Europe in 2014. I landed in Paris and first on my agenda was to see the Eiffel Tower. No visit to France is complete without seeing one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, so of course I had to see it and it surely didn't disappoint.
Thank you so much for you entry! What a great pic! Tomas
Charles Bridge, Prague, Czech Republic
I am sure you know this view very well: The Charles Bridge is one of Prague's most beautiful sights. When I was wandering through Prague in the evening, I saw this beautiful view and since I did not carry a tripod I looked for a wall to put my camera on to capture this long exposure.

I only knew such a quality images from the Shutterstock! It is just overwhelming to start getting them on my blog! Thank you so much for your great work and being a part of my contest. Tomas
The European part of Russia where I live can also surprise with its beauty. Morning, lake, fog. Together they give an amazing effect.
The truth is to get up at 4 in the morning to see all this. In the Novgorod region even in the summer there may be a little more than 0 at this time.
Something little different today but stunning as always!
Stunning photo, absolutely love it!
Long exposure in Stockholm. The city look different at night, it is quiet and the artificial lights are colourful, giving a new face to the sleeping city.
Stockholm is made of many small islands around which the water is flowing while reflecting the cityscape in a blurry vision of the swedish capital.
Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Absolutely fabulous image! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us on Steemit. Have a great day. Tomas
The former castle Felsenburg Neurathen was built spectacularly on the rock formation "Bastei" near Dresden in the east of Germany. The beautiful stone bridge between the steep rocks is a stunning sight especially at sunrise. There's a small lookout nearby which is always crowded with tourists and photographers.

Looks amazing! Thank you for showing this place. Just pinned it on my map :D Loved Dresden - one of my favorite towns in Germany.
What a view, what an image! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas
I took this on a quiet night in Paris. We visited during Christmas so while everyone is at home after work, I'm out and about taking photos in the cold. The good thing is we were able to capture some great shots with minimal or no people in our shots which was great.
Thank you so much for this great image! Have a great day and stay tuned for the winner announcement. Tomas
Baltic Sea - Standing in Germany and seeing Denmark
This photo shows the strait between Germany and Denmark called Flensborg Fjord or in German Flensburger Förde. The Holnis peninsula is great for sailing, surfing and relaxing. You can walk along the beaches or enjoy the nature reserve on the other side of it.

Casa Batlló is one of Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiecesa located in the center of Barcelona. Like everything Gaudí designed it is absolutely amazing. The building is decorated with a colorful mosaic made of broken ceramic tiles. What a genius he was!

I also live in Barcelona, this city is mesmerizing !!!
you should visite "Terrassa" also, it's 30 min far from Barcelona.
The architect who made this masterpiece was inspired by gaudi also.

Panoramic view of Valletta, the capital of Malta. Malta is a tiny island country found in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Despite its miniature size, this place has a lot to offer and I am really glad that I could call it my home for a couple of months a few years ago.
Hey, I almost entered a Valletta photo from the same perspective! I was sorting through my photos from Malta, and posted the Popeye Village one at last. =)
Haha, yeah, this is a very popular spot for taking the panoramic view of Valletta :) I actually used to live on Gozo, this was just a day-trip. Btw your shot of the Popeye Village is amazing, I am sorry I never made it there :(
Wow, Gozo is a nice island! Good choice! I went there from Sliema, and almost missed the last ferry back. I was lost in the beauty and the roads ;)
Yeah, I love Gozo... so much greener and calmer then the main island :) Did you make it there before the Azure Window collapsed? I was lucky enough to visit this spectacular site a few times... will post the photo of it next time :)
Yes, I visited it a few years ago before it turned to a ruin(sad news). The blue hole is stunning too! Look forward to your photos. :D

Do you know that at Anchor Bay, Malta, there is a film set for Popeye? Designed by a Danish architect, Popeye Village consists of colorful rustic wooden houses and pathways. Today it is converted into an attraction fun park. I was lucky to have caught an overview of it at sunset. =)

This is my entry from Serbia. This is national reserve "Uvac", very famous here, especially because of vulture eagles. They are very protected as the national reserve itself. So protected that you must inform the rangers when you are visiting it.

Here's a photo I've taken with my iPhone whilst I was in Monaco. Monaco is the world's second smallest country and one of the most beautiful I've visited so far. This seagull decided to photobomb the pic.
I shared almost identical photo last week :) But without the photobombing seagull, I love him :D
Haha, surprisingly he wasn't afraid of humans coming near and even more surprisingly, they're twice the size of the ones I usually see in Australia.
Yeah, they are pretty cheeky :) Nice shot btw, good luck in the contest and thanks for the follow! :)
Thank you and thx for the upvote :)

My today’s entry is from Iceland. Anyone who has ever been there knows, that this is one of the nicest places on earth. This photo was taken last year in February, when I first met magnificent creation of nature – Aurora Borealis. I was impressed by the scene and awestricken by lively colors in the dark.
@crazy-andy, man, I admire this photo ;)
Thank you :) It is really nice to hear that.

So this week I decided to join this challenge with a picture from my home country.. Cyprus! Cyprus is a small country, an island, in the Mediterranean sea that gets sunlight and great weather almost all year round! This picture was taken during sunrise in December, where a few clouds in the sky created this! I just can't get enough of nature's beauty! Hope you like it too!
Lename :)

No problem! Good luck to everyone :)
@lename, wow, easy easy;)
This one is more a portrait than a landscape. I call it "Old Woman with Cane". It was taken outside a guitar shop in Barcelona Spain on 35mm film. What struck me most was the woman's perfect color balance with the building facade. Her white hair & white pants broken up by her dark shirt mimicking the same lines in the sidewalk, windows & building. It's certainly not a sharp digital image but I think part of the timelessness of the image comes from the blurry pixelation lending it a "painterly" quality. This could be 1965 or 2017.
wow, what a coincidence. I went to the school just in front. I remember purchasing a flute with my mother there when i was 6!! I can't believe it haha, unfortunately it closed a couple of years ago :(
Awesome coincidence! Bummer to hear it closed, was such a cool visual on that street.
absolutely, passeig de sant joan :) the man got retired and no one took the spot.

This is a photo of Monaco, one of the smallest nations in the world. While walking around I saw Aston Martins, Ferrari's, Bugatti and yachts. Some of them worth hundreds of millions of dollars and were almost the size of cruise ships.

Ponte Vechhio also called ‘old bridge’ was the only bridge across the Arno river in Florence, Italy until 1218. This is a very romantic spot in Florence specially with the reflections of the bridge on the river is a pleasing sight. You will find lots of expensive jewellery shops around the bridge. What is amazing about this bridge is that it was built such a long time ago, and still is functional .

This one is from France. Name of the castle is Château de Pierrefonds - it is situated near Compiegne not far from Paris. And it truly castle from a fairytale. You could see this castle in 1998 version of The Man in the Iron Mask, and as Camelot in the BBC series Merlin. I highly recommend you to visit this place if you have a chance.

This is my entry for European Thursday #17. It was shot at Curonian Spit during my bicycle trip from Klaipeda to Nida (~50km). I had only Nikon D5500 and a 18-55mm kit lens (it was my first DSLR). Everybody said that light in the middle of the day will be my enemy and image will be flat, but I really like how it is looking. What Do You think guys?

I went to see my friend. My friend took me to the galata tower which has a magnificent view of Istanbul. Thanks to my friend for sharing this unique vision with me. For those who do not know Galata Tower; The Tower of Galata, also known as the Tower of Jesus, is supposed to have been built at the beginning of the year 500 AD, but it is not fully known.
Note:For those who do not know, Istanbul is a city that combines two continents. (Asia and Europe)

First of all, your captures as well as snaps posted in comments are simply awesome. I too love photography. Now, its time for me to post one of my best ones. It is very tough to choose one but here is one of many I took in Passau (Germany). I fell in love with this place. Full of nature and very much European! An amazing boating trip, midnight fireworks while on boat in middle of a river valley. This photo was taken from the highest Castle in Passau - "Veste Oberhaus". Down there you see the meeting point of two rivers and they had even different color water.

Dark clouds over Berlin. On this photo I show you the German Reichstag building in Berlin. The Reichstag is a historic building in Berlin and was built from 1884 to 1894 in the Tiergarten district. After its restoration from 1991 to 1999, it became the meeting place of the German parliament. On the left side of the building you'll see the TV tower.

I was in St. Moritz for the Swiss Indian summer this year. I had been to Switzerland twice before, once in the summer, once in the winter, but never in the autumn. The scenery of the Swiss autumn was simply stunning, with all the trees and mountains turning yellow-ish.

No worries, Thomas! It's great to see many people are participating! Keep on going.
Moonlit landscape.
This image was taken in July '17. Because the sun doesn't set easily in the north we have very short nights and it's usually very bright in the end of June and beginning of July. Coupled that with a full moon and it feels like day at night. This is right at the border of Tartu, taken from ontop of a bridge, overlooking fields, bushes, distant forests, the river Emajõgi and heavy but low-hanging fog.

Thank you for your contribution. However, the image is lacking on the minimum description of 30 words to qualify for the challenge. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas
Why? I have 30 words there. Please count again.
Coming here will not make you regret, especially if you are an admirer of architectural tours. The city is so full of medieval classical buildings, such as theaters, casinos, and churches that can be visited as much, not to mention boat trips on Lake Constance that can be enjoyed with a partner or family.
