7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #49 - winner announcement!

@axeman Asian Sunday entry:

Having general bus tourist trip around the Dubai one day, that wasn't really too much time to spend at the observation deck of famous Burj Khalifa, maybe some 30 mins only. And was quite lucky by this time to have a scheduled performance of also famous Burj Khalifa dancing fountains and to see it from very unusual point of view - from almost 500 meters top. So here we have the smiling city warmly welcoming the tourists from all over the world. Enjoy it!

@bluebottlefilms Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

One of my favourite photos from The Map to Paradise filming trip. This one was taken on the shores of Neko Harbour on the Antarctic Peninsula. I love the penguins expression, although it does look a little sad.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #49 - winner announcement!

@derangedvisions African Wednesday entry:

It has been a while since I entered anything in African Wednesday. The series I shot of these three farm boys while I was in Tanzania turned out to be some of my favorite shots of the time I spent there. I was on my way in to a Maasai church and these boys came down the path to see us. After I got some shots of them, they followed me into the church and we played some games during the service and I almost got them beat by some of the village elders because they were being disruptive.

This is another photo from my visit to the beautiful mountains in Switzerland a few months ago. I took this photo from a helicopter near the small town of Gletscherschlucht, in the region of Interlaken. There are a lot of ways to see the Swiss Alps, but I definitely recommend seeing them from a helicopter!

Amazing shot.

Swiss Alps is such a marvelous destination. Terrific!

Northern parts of Norway have a lot to offer - among the best things we have to place possibility of seen Aurora Borealis - astronomical phenomenon which creates amazing, magical light show on winter black sky... Here, one of my favourite work from last year - Aurora show over Trondheimsfjorden seen from Malvik area in middle Norway.

very impressive ~ 💚 ~

Amazing photo! I have to see the Aurora one day!

If You will have any oportunity - go for it! Worth every price :)

Wow, this is beautiful. This must have been such an incredible experience. I could not even imagine how cool this would be in real life.

Wow, that sure is a stunner!

I spent in Marseille a few days during my trip through the southern France. I visited cities like Aubagne, Cassis, Saint-Tropez, Nice, Cannes and finally Corse island. Marseille is one of the bigest French cities and has a lot to offer. I took this photo, just after a short trip on Chateau d'If island, near the harbor. I was focused on sunset and architecture when I saw boy...

Oh, I just love South of France... Thank you for sharing your pic with all of us. Have a great day. Tomas

Landungsbrücken in Hamburg, Germany

My hostel was located just above this viewpoint at Landungsbrücken, the place where Hamburg and St. Pauli meet, and so I enjoyed a fantastic sunset view looking at the port of Hamburg!

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Thank you so much for submitting your wonderful image in today's contest. Have a great day!

Thanks Tomas, you too!

Cinque Terre is a magical place. It is a place full of history, beautiful views and warm people. Literally, its name means “five lands". At this picture you can see the first village of the Cinque Terre named Riomaggiore. Its peeling pastel buildings march down a steep ravine to a tiny harbour- the region's favourite postcard view – and glow romantically at sunset. If you are driving, the hills between here and La Spezia are spectacular to explore. It was worth visiting this place !

I just love that place! So picturesque!

The Guggenheim Museum, completed in 1997, has been the landmark of the Basque capital Bilbao ever since. The building is known for its deconstructive style and its unique shape. Especially at night with atmospheric lighting and even, at regular intervals, artificially generated wafts of mist, it is a magnificent photo spot.

Wow, looks very sleek and modern and the lighting adds more character to it.

Thank you, Tomas! Wish you a great day!

Tour Eiffel @ night

the Eiffel tower really stands out on a hazy nights with all lights on...
I had this view shortly after sunset from the viewing deck of tour montparnasse in Paris, France.

regards,

Denis

One thing that I particularly like about Munich is the underground architecture. There are so many beautiful subway stations in the city. it is a passion for me to showcase all station nicely. this station is the Westfriedhof and is one of my favorite subway station.

Wow, what a subways you have in Munich. Very impressive.

Thank you! We have so many great stations. here on my blog you will find 28 more stations. Most of them are from Munich. a few from Berlin too.

The energy that releases this monument is strong. Even without having to reach the summit, this modern pyramid offers opportunities from its base.
By standing just in front of the Eiffel Tower, in Ground floor, in the middle of the square, and looking at the top, you can feel unique sensations, worthy of a "Highlander" :)

Love it! Well done.

Aerial view of the center of Puerto de la Cruz, a picturesque coastal town on the Tenerife Island with majestic palms of the Plaza Charco square in the foreground and Pico del Teide in the background. With a height of 3,718 m (12,198 ft), Pico del Teide is highest mountain of the island as well as all Spain.

Photo taken at the old port of Barcelona, this are was completely renovated for the Olympic Games of 1992. The image shows a postmodern architecture of this square. At the background there is the Columbus monument, his statue is at the top of the column and it points to the south (towards Africa). This monument dates from the end of XIX century.

The summer is leaving but Greece will be, for a couple more months, ideal for summer vacations! So I am entering this week with one of the many gorgeous beaches of Myconos, the most famous island of the Cyclades complex, in the Aegean sea!

This is Zurich - one dominant city of the Swiss - at night in December 2015 ~ a quite mysterious impression fitting to the most romantic time of the year ~ 🌟 ~ ✨ ~
Like Prague the city is of astonishing historic beauty with ancient buildings to take any receptive visitor back in time ~ there are quite many bridges to promenade on and the reflections of light in the water after nightfall like captured in this image are always enticing ~ I love how coincidentally there in red is the letter ˋH´ formed in the water as it is the first one of my surname and thus a perfect signature of the picture’s creator most truly :)

Very nice capture of night Zurich but just FYI, the capital of Switzerland is Bern ;)

Ha... oh my...! Thank you very much...! I obviously am so fixated on Zurich (- where I hopefully will be someday soon again -) that I granted it a bit too much importance in every single regard :)

Budapest is a city that just looks amazing from any angle. Here you can see two of the lion statues on the Szechenyi Chain Bridge with the Hungarian National Gallery on the hill in the background.

Stormy clouds over the Pyrenees mountain range.
While visiting spain, I stopped by a town named Ainsa which is an historical town from a medieval time. From the top of the rampart you can see mountain all around, the view is just stunning.

I visited Lviv in Ukraine last week. It's very beautiful city with very interesting architecture. You can walk around for many hours and still find some nice places.... and if you are tired you can find many good restaurants to rest.

I have a soft spot in my heart for alleyways. When the empty space between buildings are as beautiful and magical as the buildings themselves... I am a happy traveler. Maybe I over-romanticize but alas, I enjoy the excitement I feel. Whilst walking with my friend through Barcelona when I was stopped in my tracks by this sight, and luckily he let me stop and snap a few shots. thank you

First sunset at Larnaca, Cyprus was at Salt Lake not far from he hotel. Pretty stunning place to see - quite a big lake by this time is completely dry with a salt on top. Shot with i-phone 7. When come back home more quality photos to follow of course ;)

My entry today comes from São Miguel, one of Açores's Islands. This is Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lagoon), one of the many lagoons in the Island. Due to its climate, its very easy to have foggy weather in Açores, which means that you will only see fog instead of lagoons (which was my reality in most of the visit :). Fortunately, on my first day there, there was a clear view from one of the viewpoints:

Vesuvius is an Italian volcano at an altitude of 1,281 meters, bordering the Bay of Naples. It is the only volcano in continental Europe to have erupted during the last hundred years, in 1944. It caused the destruction of the cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabies in year 79.

This picture is the real essence of Ireland, one of the biggest islands of Europe. You can see in it old history, wonderful nature and peace. One of the best travel you can experience.

I was on a day trip at Posočje region in my homeland Slovenia a couple of weeks back and I have to say that this really is my favourite part of the country.
