Together with Segovia and Avila, Toledo is one of three amazing, historical cities that you can reach very fast and easily from Madrid by train, within a day trip. The old town, that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental and cultural heritage, is located on top of a hill, surrounded on three sides by a bend in the Tagus River.

@vinceboisgard Asian Sunday entry:

Trekking the Himalayas is such a wonderful experience, the views are stunning even breathtaking! It is a physical walk but for the locals, carrying huge bags of rice wearing pyjamas pants while walking in the snow is a routine! I always was amazed by them overtaking me on the way!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #55 - winner announcement!

@bluebottlefilms Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

This one is fresh out of the water. Although the waves were small, it allowed me to get right up close to the impact zone. The water was only about half a meter deep so keeping an eye on the sets was important to avoid being flattened on the reef.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #55 - winner announcement!

@axeman African Wednesday entry:

Aswan at Dusk. True photographers seems to never sleep, especially while travelling :) Joking of course, but still some truth in those words exist when coming to landscape photography, since most amazing shots you can get while dusk or dawn. So here we go, early morning in Aswan, the morning when we arrived there by cruise ship from Luxor.
Shot with long tele-photo lens from the upper deck of the ship. Enjoy the scenery :)

This is another photo from the beautiful mountains in Switzerland. I took this photo just above the very small town of Reuti, in the region of Interlaken. There are tons of hiking trails leading to other small mountain towns open in the summer to give a great workout along with an incredible view. And if you need a place to rest, there are benches along many of the routes!

What a romantic view! Great click Matt.

View of the upper part of the Trevi Fountain - one of the iconic landmarks of Rome, Italy. Designed by the Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini, it is one of the largest and most famous Baroque fountains in the world.

That place is little hectic for my liking but needles to say I do have some great memories from there:).....

Beautiful panoramic view of the Park Guel, one of the most famous and visited landmarks of Barcelona, Spain. Designed by the Catalan architect genius Antoni Gaudi, the park is known for its abundnance of unusual, stunningly colorful buildings and structures.

Oh, I just love Barcelona... One of my most favorite cities in the entire world!

Why not to try with Aurora Borealis this Thursday. You can hardly miss with natural wonder like this.
Photo is from my trip to Iceland about a year and a half ago.
I hope you like it and enjoy your Thursday!

I certainly do! I would be very much surprised if anyone wouldn't.

Photo taken in Warwickshire in the centre of England. Summer is the time of harvest, in this image you can see the hay bales, which are kept for winter. The almost dead tree and the sepia tone give and interesting mood to the photo.

Oh, I love that. What a nice composition.

This picture was taken on a recent shorttrip to Switzerland. They dont want to be part of Europe but they can't deny the continent they live on lol.
It shows lake Brienz and the corresponding town surrounded by the beautiful Alps and was shot from a mountain called Brienzer Rothorn with a pocophone. Its not super high quality but i hope you enjoy it anyways.

What an amazing image! Thank you so much for your submission.

The rocks of Malta

As maybe already have mentioned before, the shoreline of Malta is just perfect for landscape photographers with all those amazing rocks and stones.
This shot is made early morning just about 100 meters from the hotel. Using very low shooting point the possibilities to find very nice composition are just endless. And combined with soft colors of the sunrise...

Enjoy the scenery!

Germany, Bavaria
I took this picture in my hometown on the very south of Germany (closed to the Austrian border) while hiking up Kranzhorn a mountain which stays half in Germany and half in Austria. It was pretty fun to cross a Country border by hiking over the mountain!

You do have a pretty amazing background:)

I can't complain :D Thank you Tomas !

Hill of Crosses
One of my favourite places to visit when in Lithuania. It is a pilgrimage site outside the small town called Siauliai. There are approximately 100 000 crosses of various sizes, and one could find crucifixes from all over the world. It has been burned down and restored in the past and is considered to be one of the best places to visit.

Wow, that sure is something really amazing!

Tour Eiffel
As always whenever i visit Paris, i must always go see the tower effel, c pity it is not ranked among the 7 wonders of the world to really visit especially the night ohh my god that it is beautiful! It is wonderfully unavoidable!

I was in Paris just a couple of weeks ago for a short while with a very low expectations to be honest since I have read some bad reviews. What a nice surprise it was. I loved it and I am sure I will be back. Great image!

I am very happy to hear that..thanks Tomas!

A typical view from the Northern coastal villages. Most of the house are made of bricks with a touch of colour.
These are literally just across the beach, steps away from the sea. Despite the cold water and the rocky beach, these towns still very warm in their own way!

Timisoara is the city in western Romania, know for Secessionist architecture. The central square, Piata Victoriei, is surrounded by baroque buildings and the Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral, with its mosaic-patterned roof tiles and icon gallery.

City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain

Europe has some stunning architecture. One prime example is the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain: The complex is controverse because of its high cost, but the architecture is certainly impressive!

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Budapest is a wonderful city, and was once two different cities, Buda and Pest, separated by the danube river. In Pest side, the Parliament is probably one of the most known buildings, given its size and incredible architecture. This photo was taken it the other side of the river, Buda, where the Parliament could be seen through the windows of Buda castle.

Something a little bit different this week!
This shot is from a sandy beach at Crete, Greece.

_MG_8611.jpg

The flower, Pancratium maritimum (that's its scientific name) is practically a flower bulb that grows on beaches and sand dunes around the Mediterranean sea and a few more parts of the world. Extremely tolerant to hot and arid climates, sand lily (one more name for the same plant) has survived for thousands of years until the modern concept of tourism stared to invade to its habitat with heavy machinery and all sort of constructions on the sand. Nowadays it is in danger of extinction and can only be found in remote and unspoiled coastlines.

I have written a full post here.

We encounter this magical place on a road trip from Trondheim to Bergen, it is in the neighbourhood of Loen, right in the famous fjords of Norway, to get to this valley you need to do a little detour, but is it so worth it! I lays on the road that leads towards Briksdalbreen in the middle of national parks and just as pretty as the glacier itself or even more spectacular, up to you to decide!

That sure is a fantastic image... I do regret to tell you though that your entry is bit too short and falling of a minimum 30 words. Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks, I just added some more info I hope this is adequate now. Cheers

Photo taken in front of White tower one of the symbol of Thessaloniki Greece and its archeological heritage. Inside a permanent exhibit of the history of the city with an audioguide in different languages. On the top a attractive view of the city. About the meal is a good quality meatball and mashed potatoes with local white wine

The Castle of Beja is a medieval castle in the civil parish of Beja, Portugal. I was there last year on a nice summer day; the courtyard was filled with nice flowers and trees. I have been lucky to walk the walls all around the castle just after the restauration.
