POINT OF NO RETURN

Hello brethren and loved ones from the steemit community, I appreciate your love and followup on my recent posts on slavery.

Today I will be bringing ro us a concluding part of the slave trade in Nigeria.

How they transported away from Nigeria and never returned, after the transaction at Chief Seriki Abass’s place.

After leaving Chief Seriki Abass’s Court they sail from the now known Slave Port. And cross the lagoon to walk through the slave route to the Sea where the large ships were docked.

The Slave Port used to be where the slaves were loaded into boats for shipment to Europe or America via the Atlantic Ocean.

They sailed to cross the Lagoon and waked along routes till they get to where the ships were docked.
.
The slaves walked through a route, till they get to a well, called the point of no return, where they drink from the water, and it is believed that, once a slave drinks from that water, he won’t find his way back home again.

Then, at the ocean, there is a symbol, signifying the entrée of no return.
Here the slaves are boarded on ships to different destinations.

That’s how our people, forefathers, were taken for slavery; that’s how they embarked on slavery.

In this generation, this type of slavery is practiced in a modernized way, such as

#Child #Trafficking
#Prostitution

And many more.

It’s time we rise against the rising of slavery again in its new form and clothing amidst us.

We say NO to Slavery

We say NO to Child Trafficking

We say NO to Human Trafficking

We say NO to Prostitution.

Thanks for reading through.
