•Representatives of more than 130 nationalities: Kazakhs, Russians, Germans, Tatars,Uyghur etc live in peace there.

Kazakh people are extremely hospitable, if anyone comes to their house he/she will surely be offered to drink some tea and eat something, it's considered to be rude no to take care of people who cross the threshold of your door.So in case you will live there, make sure to offer some tea to your visitors😁

Kazakhstan is the biggest tea consumer the world (1,2 kg per capita), even bigger than India. We just love drinking milk tea in the morning, afternoon and evening. Every Kazakh drinks an average of 8 cups of tea on a daily basis. Coffee and green tea are not very popular here.Tea is King 👑😁

•Kazakhstan has many traditions that still take place. For instance, in some regions of Kazakhstan "brides" are still being "kidnapped", however it's usually by a mutual agreement of a bride and a groom.

•One of the highest skating rinks in the world - Medeo Skating Rink is located in Kazakhstan. It lays at 1691 above the sea level. Over 170 world records were witnessed there.

•Kazakhstan is the place where horses were first domesticated. It is also a place where people eat horse meat😬Horse meat is considered to be healthier than any other meat in Kazakhstan, it's lean, low in fat and high in protein. The national drink in Kazakhstan is horse milk.

• The first man that was sent into space from USSR - Yuri Gagarin was sent from Baikonur cosmodrome, which is located in Kazakhstan.

•Kazakhstan is a very cold country, with big winds and freezing winter.(If you ever want to travel there, I wouldn't advise you to go during winter.Summer is the best time to go, however it is very short😁

Balkhash Lake in Kazakhstan, which is the second largest lake in Central Asia consists of half fresh water and half salt water. This phenomenon has not been yet explained by any scientists.

•The heartland of wild cannabis - huge Chuy  Valley is located in Kazakhstan. The territory of the place is around 150 000 hectares.

These are some facts about Kazakhstan for today.😁

I wonder how many of you have been to Kz and know something about it?And how many people from Kazakhstan are here on Steemit?!

Sort:

Very interesting, so many things I didn't know about this huge country. This is why I love Steemit - I learn so many things that are general knowledge but I never came across them before.

Definitely!I also love Steemit for interesting content and people who are freely interacting with one another, which is quite different from other platforms😊

Amazing facts. Thanks for sharing!

There is a German lady - @lenatramper - travelling through Kazakhstan at the moment. Maybe you are interested in her journey, and see some pictures of your motherland.

The phenomenon about the salty and sweet water is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an too.
And it is He who has released simultaneously the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition. (Qur'an al Furqan 25/53)

Thank you!Wow, that's fascinating to hear, I will definitely check her posts;)Didn't know this phenomenon was mentioned in Quran, very interesting)))

Good post. Thanks. I just want to clarify the comment about Yuri Gagarin for those who don't know. You wrote:

• The first man that was sent into space from USSR - Yuri Gagarin was sent from Baikonur cosmodrome, which is located in Kazakhstan.

That is true, but it may not be clear that Gagarin was not just the first man in space from the USSR. He was the first human being from any country to ever fly in space.

Yeah true, there were Belka and Strelka before him if I'm not mistaken 😁
