Edinburgh trip - Part 2
If you haven't already, please check out Part 1 of my Edinburgh trip here Also esssential tips for figuring out the dialect!!
After checking out the Sir Walter Scott monument and recovering from my claustrophobia from the narrow spiral staircase, I headed over to my Airbnb.
Airbnb
If you haven't used airbnb, it's really simple to use, just sign up for an account and away you go. Put in the place you want to travel to and all kind of interesting places to stay will pop up. Places have feedback from guests about the host, and the stay so it is generally a safe a reliable way to travel (Probably more so than staying in a hotel). )h, and it's cheaper and you are supporting independent businesses or individuals as opposed to corporations, always a good thing.
My pleace was lovely and comfy, a 15 minute bus ride from the centre, and in a nice area. Great hosts too, and as my first airbnb experience was highly recommended.
This picture of the national museum of Scotland up on Calton Hill was taken with the sunset behind the monument, most of the people were stood up on the monument taking selfies. One of my all time favourite pics, I love the poses and also the colours of the sunset.
Calton Hill.
My favourite place to hang out in the evening, although somewhat cool, the views over the city were breathtaking. It's only 5-10 minutes to walk up the hill, and it's also close to the centre.
On my second night there I was lucky enough to get these pics, it was a beautiful sunset. In fact it was a bit too busy as the views over the city were taken up by doznes of photographers trying to capture a picture too.
A must visit for any photographers, or anyone who wants stunning views of Edunburgh without having the time or the legs to trek up to Arthur's Seat.
The view from Calton Hill
Stunning views, I used a gaduated ND filter and a tripod to capture these.
My friend - A keen mountain biker
Taken handheld with a wide open aperture.
Taken with a long-ish exposure, and a flash to freeze the action. I couldn't set the camera flash to rear curtain as my hand had frozen up by this point, so you will see the trail after him if you look closely. but still a cool pic I think.
Enjoy the pics, I'll my adding more pics and a blog from my Edinburgh trip soon. !!!
As well as tips, I also provide some occasional shoots from my photography, I hope that you enjoy.
