I’ve been growing hairs on my head for as long as I’ve been alive. A lot of my buddies are bald or balding, not me, I still have a full head of hair. It started turning silver about mid-30’s. I’ve been told salt and pepper hairs are sophisticated, I heard that one once and, sexy, that’s the other one I’ve heard. I’ve been told a whole lot of other things in between, way too many to remember and, there’s a lot of ish talking in there, too, but sophisticated and sexy are the only ones I care to remember.
During that time, while having the hairs on my head I was just telling you about, I’ve had my hairs done/did, whichever reads best to you, a lot. My head’s seen a lot of things—razors, dreadlocks, bleach, flat tops, all of the above including the current do, a fohawk or, as I like to say to the person with the shears in their hand, “sharpen up my head turner.”
Totally kidding—I’ve never said that to anyone in my life. Interesting, I didn’t know this article was going to do this. I thought I would just set the stage for all of the pictures I took today which, by the way, I have some nice pictures to show you, attach them, click the post button, and be onto the next one. The scenery around here is gorgeous. It’s tough to take a bad picture in Liverpool, UK.
The hairs on my head, remember? I’ve been telling you about them since the opening sentence of the first paragraph, they’ve seen a lot of shears—a lot! At roughly two do’s/month for over 44 years, you’re talking about a number that would be easier to figure out on a calculator. I’ve had my hairs cut by the girls at the bikini joint and felt so bad for her, for getting my hairs all inside her bikini, I never went back. I’ve been served beers and whiskey at the ones in Las Vegas, been to the ones with pool tables, dart boards, skateboard ramps and things like that, all really cool spots to get your hairs cut. I’ve even been to the one where if you don’t get there before noon, you better try again tomorrow because the gentleman’s too drunk to cut hair after lunch—don’t drink and cut.
I’m leaving a lot out, I know it, two do’s/month is a lot to remember. I can remember having to call my mother one time because the barber had to verify it was ok to send me home with shapes in my head before he made shapes in my head. I’ve had my hairs cut by freshly released convicts on their first attempt at staying out of prison after several years of incarceration—several times.
I’ve seen a lot of shears and I’ve been inside a lot of barber shops. But never, until today, have I ever been inside a barber shop where you can get your hairs cut, get tattooed, request a mix from the DJ, and shoot pool—first time I’ve ever seen that. Oh, and order food from the kitchen and a drink from the full bar, too, with several beers on tap, can you believe that? All of that at the same barber shop.
Photos—iPhone 8+ (in a pink case).
Dr. Feelgood Tattoo Studio, 6 Bold Street. Liverpool, UK. The same address as Bar 17 and Est 15 Barbers—where I got my head turner sharpened up.
I got inside and dude at the front, super nice and friendly like everyone in England, asked me what I need (in his British accent), “aye mate?” I pointed at my head, “just my hairs cut, please?” He said “ifa’ya need’in da hairs matey, see heem, yeea” pointing at the barber chairs on the left side of the room and (I hope my typing sounds British) “win’yant mo awt-wuck, coma s’me, yeea” pointing at one of the tattoo chairs on the right side of the room. I got both of their business cards.
I was really impressed with the inside—coolest barber shop I’ve been in. They have black, spray painted picnic tables and full size sofas in the middle of everything where you can eat, watch people get tattooed, order a drink, wait for the pool table or a barber chair to open up, etc. and regular booth style seating too. I sat down and got a good look around the joint—including the view from the chair.
See the paint outside? The whole alley leading to and from the tattoo/bar/barber shop has a Spanish style mural with a day of the dead skull in black and red. There’s always street performers in Liverpool, too, every day of every week, multiple people are out there busking. I even saw a fancy Bitcoin ATM, the fanciest one I’ve ever seen actually—better yet, I’ll just show you.
I have more than 50 pictures of Liverpool to show you from today but who’s counting? “Only in Liverpool 🏴 🇬🇧.” I’m glad you’re here right now—thank you! There’s so many pictures waiting to be captured here, it’s tough to snap a bad shot. Even the double-decker, public transportation, bus ride back to the air b&b we’ll be at for another two weeks eats up my battery. And the hairscut, oh man! I haven’t had one like that since Long Beach Clipper Parlor in Long Beach, California—perfect! Thanks, Gaz! “See ya in two weeks.” 👍🏿
When I left and expressed my gratitude he asked me if I’d write a review. I was like ‘huh, #write?? What?! Never heard of it.’ 🤔 “Review?” I asked. “Yeah, you know, just like a Google review or something, if you don’t mind,” is what he said. “Alright,” I played along. What I’ll do is stop back by there tomorrow and give him a link to this article. He’ll know what’s up when he gets to the part that says...
I’ll do something like this for you instead, how’s that? And I’ll post it on the #steem blockchain, ever hear of it? What about Steemit? It’s the ecosystem you’re contributing to right now by reading this article. I’m about to contribute to it even more by clearing up space on my phone and storing all of these pictures of Liverpool on the #blockchain. Enlarge the first one, take your time and enjoy the scroll—welcome to Liverpool, UK, the birthplace of The Beatles and home to one of the best hairscuts I’ve ever frikkin had.

Congrats on the up-votes, this article deserves all of the recognition it has received.
I think the last time I went to a barber was back in 1981. The barber shops still had that red and white swirly pole out in front of all of the barber shops.
Since then, I have been shaving what ever hair I have left on my head for the past 39 years.
Thanks for taking us along with you guys as you explore Liverpool home of the
Happy Saturday my man! What I’m trying to say is, I didn’t think about you at all today, not once or three times or anything.
Thank you, Bob.
Sincerely, Arts.
Thanks for the reply, can't say I wasn't expecting it, as you are the best at getting back to all of those that reply to your blogs. Just saw this, as we left Saturday around 11:00 am and got home yesterday in the early afternoon.
Now, that is what I remember about barber shops. I haven't seen one of those barber polls in a while. I don't know if that is because I haven't really looked for one, as the hair on my head disappeared long ago, or there just aren't any around. It will be interesting to see which is the case @dandays.
#farm-mom filled me in on some of the 👎 vote garbage going on. The first word out of my mouth was "WHAT". She told me that you have posted a blog about this utter nonsense. Can't wait to read this one, later on today, when I really have the time to digest your response.
Thanks for the pics, I thought the barber poll had gone the way of so many other things that are now only relics.
Thanks for the memories.
what a cool barbers. Just need a pin ball machine, and that would be perfect!

Oh crap! I just saw you curated this article for OCD. Dude, you made my day and it’s bright and early in the morning still—thank you! THANK YOU <— bigger than that.
You don't have to use the tag especially if you're running out of tags, just pin it on the map as instructed and we will pick it up for curation if its a great post. You can pin it after you have posted as well.
First, thank you for helping me out. Bare with me though, I can’t emphasize enough how computer illiterate I am. This really is my very first social media type experience ever and I’m still trying to master the art of linking a hyperlink. <— true story, I tried spelling it “hiper,” see what I mean? I can’t even spell the frikkin thing.
Ok, now that I’ve rambled on long enough without getting to the point.. uhm, what’s a PIN, other than my debit code at the cash machine? Not sure how that works.
I went to the map page and clicked the code, located the coordinates and copied them. I posted them at the bottom of my post but I can’t see anything, is that what’s supposed to happen?
Again, thank you for holding my hand @livinguktaiawn, I need all the help I can get.
(I see if I paste the coordinates in this message, nothing shows up still) I guess I just want to make sure I’m doing it right.
Thank you!

Got it! It’s on the map now. Thank you... and thank you!
No problems. You've jumped into the deep end with Steemit, and I see you've even survived two years already !!
The code doesn't appear in the post if you leave a blank line before and after as some people thought it looked odd to have a random line of code on their post.
Danget! I don’t mean to be such a get the last wOrd in kinda guy right now—those people drive me crazy like “dude, take the compliment and move on” but I want to say thank you for noticing. 👍🏿 There, I said it.
Hello @livinguktaiwan, I’m back. I have another travel list I’d like to share with the map but when I click where the castle is on the map, I can’t paste the coordinates.
It says “copied” but it won’t copy. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
Thank you for sharing all these pictures along with these stories. Sometimes i feel like i'm reading a book 😀
@aleister. I don’t know if you’re aware or not but that’s one of the kindest compliments you could’ve given me—thank you so much.
It’s my pleasure to to share these adventures with you, I really appreciate you following along—thank you.
And thanks even more for the signature, I mean, sure.. I looked good, sharpened up hairs and all that, good lookin!! But man.. with my new signature provided by @aleister, the designer and musician, I’m teetering on ‘show stopper’ now. 😉

Thank you very much sir, I’m glad you like this one. Coolest part is, you’re pretty consistent about liking my work.... way, way, way before the big votes stop by.
Yeah, OCD votes really suck said no one ever! That sure was nice to see first thing this morning @angryman, I’m not gonna lie, seems like it’s been a long time. “Yes! I’m still on their radar!!” <- or something like that.
Always a pleasure to hear from you sir.

I’m really glad you liked this one @travelltheworld, I recommend Liverpool. My wife and I have been journeying our way through UK since June, I have nothing but good things to say about this country.
Nobody ever explained to me how affordable everything is here, it’s fascinating. Where I’m from, Los Angeles, 1 Apple literally cost $2.99 at the market whereas here, 6 apples (the same apples) are $1 for all 6. Our phones are roughly 1/7 the cost we’re accustom to in the states and, the people, oh man! Everyone here is so kind and welcoming.
Have a great weekend @travelltheworld. And thank you for the follow! It’s nice to be met, I’m glad you could make it.
