Near Vratsa is located the largest climbing area in Bulgaria with over 500 routes suitable for all level climbers - from beginners to experts. Vratsata Gorge – the highest cliffs on the Balkan Peninsula (400 meters high) and a favourite place for climbing for bulgarian and foreign climbers. There are routes for sport, traditional and alpine climbing with huge varieties of length - one pitch, several pitch and the longest one are 10-13 pitches. And with or without climbing, the place is pretty impressive throughout the whole year with these majestic high limestone rocks. Especially for a photo walk.
I can spent hours only hanging around and making photos of these gorgeous rocks.
Here is how the place looks like in the winter. It is cold for climbing now even though there is no snow.
And here is what happens when spring comes.. The rocks are covered with climbers looking like ants because of the scale :)
The routes have really cool names. Route “Road to Hell”.
Let’s play a game. Find the climber on the next photos :D (There is one even on the previous photo, but it is too hard)
Ok. No more games.
And be careful.. There are some food thieves!
Never leave your food without observation! :D
Breathtaking views!
