Hi Steemit Friends!
When in the Netherlands, there is a question that is in peoples minds: where are the windmills and the peaceful greenery? You actually don't get to see them that often in the heart of Amsterdam, so we actually went to the place where all the famous photos of windmills come from: Zaanse Schans. (My pronunciation of this city is bad, so I won't even attempt trying.) It's a short trip from Central Station from Amsterdam and off we went to the city of windmills and cheese.

암스테르담에 가면 자연스럽게 풍차는 어디에 있지?라는 생각이 듭니다. 사실 암스테르담에서는 풍차를 거의 볼수가 없고, 잔세스칸스라는 곳에 가면 우리가 흔히 생각하는 그 풍차를 볼수가 있습니다. 암스테르담 중앙역에서 한 30분 정도 걸리는 곳입니다. 여기는 풍차와 치즈로 유명한 곳이여서 기쁜 마음으로 출발했습니다.
*Before any trip, one must eat breakfast to start the day. That day, we had TWO breakfasts so that we could try to the different types of foods in Amsterdam. First place was Dutch pancakes and morning coffee.
금강산도 식후경이라는 말 처럼, 출발하기 전에 배고파서 아침을 두번식이나 먹었습니다. 처음으로 먹었던 것은 더치 팬케이크로 약간 크레페처럼 얇은 밀가루 반죽 위에 다양한 고기,채소가 있어서 빈대떡? 같은 느낌이 들었지만 맛있게 먹었습니다.
*The second place was a more heartier omelet place where people lined up to eat. They were both really good.
두번째로 갔던 곳은 오믈렛으로 유명한 곳이였고, 많은 관광객과 현지인들이 줄을 서서 먹었는데요, 배불렀는데도 맛있게 먹어서 엄청 맛집이라는 생각이 들었습니다.
*And off we were to Zaanse Schans, a very short 30 min train ride away.
드디어 출발했습니다. 약 30분 정도 걸렸던거 같습니다.
*When we got here, we started to walk towards the main village? where the cheese factory and the windmills were. It was about a 15 minute walk and the scenary and homes made it look like we were on movie set or we went back in time.
이 마을에 도착했을때, 정말 영화 세트장에 온것 처럼 모든게 다 그림 같았고 평화로웠습니다. 중앙 마을까지 한 15분 정도 걸으면서 갔는데도 그냥 일반 집들 구경하는것도 너무 이쁘고 시간 가는줄 몰랐습니다.
*When we finally arrived, we could see that the village was quite small but very peaceful. Everywhere we looked, we got a sense of peace and tranquility. Although it was a bit cloudy, we were grateful that it didn't rain and wandered about.
마을에 도착했을때, 생각 했던것 보다 아담한 사이즈에 평화로움을 만끽했습니다. 날이 다소 흐리고 쌀쌀했지만, 비가 안와서 다행이라 생각하고 구경하기에 딱 좋았습니다.
*The windmills were actually a bit off the village but a few of them were inside the village where we could get a closer look. They look really modern and were still in operation.
풍차들이 중앙 마을에서 다소 좀 멀었지만, 마을 안에 몇개의 풍차가 있어서 가까운 거리에서 볼수 있었습니다. 생각보다 되게 현대식으로 되어 있었고 아직도 작동중이라고 들었습니다.
*Zaane Schans was also famous for it's wood works, and what I mean is wooden footworks. It seems that Dutch people have been wearing wooden shoes or clogs for a very long time and was used not only for protection but also as a type of tap dancing shoes. So we did what everyone was doing; look at wooden shoes and take photos.
잔세스칸스는 풍차 뿐만 아니라, 나무 신발 공장으로 유명했습니다. 더치 사람들은 예전부터 나무 신발을 자주 신었다고 했고, 단순히 보호용 뿐만 아니라 탭댄스에도 쓰였다고 합니다. 너무 신기해서 열심히 사진 찍고 구경했습니다.
*Next, we visited the cheese factory where you could buy all sorts of cheese. I know it sounds cheesy, but if a cheese heaven existed, this is what it would have looked like.
다음 장소는 치즈 공장이였습니다. 치즈 천국이 존재한다면 이런곳이지 않을까 싶었습니다.
*After wandering out a bit more, we decided to just chill and relax (and eat more) while we waiting for the next train ride back to Amsterdam. I would say it is a 5~6 hour trip at the most and a great place to stop by while in the Netherlands.
좀더 구경하다가 해가 구름 사이로 나와서 마을이 더 평화로워졌습니다. 저희는 이 날씨를 즐기기 위해 간식을 먹으면서 암스테르담 기차를 기다렸습니다.
And I think that's pretty much it!
