This time we take you to Belgium on our journey across the Benelux! The Benelux consists of 3 nations (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) and is considered the starting point of the European Union "EU". So, this post is all about Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the EU! We had a great time and hope this blog helps on your next trip!

벨기에를 생각하면 맥주부터 떠오르는 사람들이 있을거 같은데요, 이 곳을 정말로 아름답고 맥주 말고도 좋았던게 너무 많은 곳이였습니다. 브뤼셀은 벨기에의 수도이자 EU의 수도이기도 한데요, 오늘 잠깐 벨기에로 떠나보겠습니다!
*아래 사진은 암스테르담인데요, 마음에 들어서 올렸습니다. ㅎㅎ
*We started our journey at "Galeries Royales Saint Hubert" which is a arcade with retails shops and good food. And a great place to take photos.
*브뤼셀의 시작은 성휴버트 갤러리 로얄스인데요, 여기에는 많은 가계들과 음식점들이 아케이드 형식으로 되어 있습니다. 한국의 전통시장과 비슷하지만, 유럽식이라고 생각하시면 될것같습니다. 사진 찍기에 좋은 장소에요!
*As we were passing by on our way to the cathedral, we saw Belgium's famous stepped gables all around us. They are the stepped shaped roofs at the top of the buildings. You can also see these types of buildings in other areas in Europe!
브뤼셀 성당으로 걸어가던 중, 여기저기 보이는 벨기에의 유명한 지붕이 여기저기 보였습니다. 이 지붕들은 특이하게 계단형식으로 되어있는데요, 벨기에 뿐만 아니라 유럽 곳곳에서 볼수 있습니다!
*When we finally found our way to the cathedral, it was a sight to see. This is the shot of the cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula and is situated a little bit on the farside of the downtown area. We got there in the morning, so we got to enjoy the views without too many tourists around.
*성당에 도착했을때, 굉장히 웅장한 느낌을 받았습니다. 아침에 가서 그런지 사람들도 별로 없었고 한산한 인파 덕분에 좋은 사진들을 많이 찍었습니다. 시내 중심에서는 조금 떨어져 있지만 좋습니다!
*The interior was more impressive than we imagined. Being inside a holy place built in the 16th century made us think about the people that lived and struggled to build this magnificent building.
외관도 멋지지만, 내부가 생각했던 것 이상으로 아름다웠습니다. 16세기에 만들어진 성소에서 구경한다고 생각하니, 그 시대에 이런 건물을 지었던 사람들이 떠올랐습니다. 굉장히 고생했을것 같습니다...
*After giving our prayers, we got lost. A lot of local people really helped us out on directions and they were so kind to us. Some people went out of their to help us find where we needed to go.
*기도하고 나간 이후에 길을 잃었습니다. 다행이도 많은 벨기에 사람들이 길 안내도 해주고 다른 유럽 도시들과 달리 굉장히 친절한 느낌을 받았습니다. 어떤 분들은 저희가 가고 싶었던 곳까지 동행하기도 했습니다.
*As travelers, we get lost all the time, but when you are traveling even the wrong directions can lead you to the best places. And we found ourselves at Godiva, which we DIDN'T know was from Belgium, and enjoy ourselves for more photos and a tasty treat. The mouth watering chocolate covered starberries were delicious!
*여행 도중에 잘못된 길을 가더래도 즐겁다는 말이 있었는데요, 저희도 길을 잃어도 즐거웠습니다. 길을 헤메다가 배고파서 고디바에서 초코렛 딸기도 맘것 먹고 예쁜 사진들도 많이 찍었습니다. 고디바가 벨기에꺼였는지 몰랐는데요, 또 먹고 싶네요ㅎㅎ.
*We managed to find our restaurant and enjoyed lunch and yes, Belgium beer. Yum. I think the locally brewed Belgium beers were better than their more famous counterparts.
*점심식사 장소를 겨우 찾고 맛있는 점심과 맥주를 마셨습니다. 벨기에 글로벌하게 유명맥주보다 지역에서 만드는 맥주들이 더 맛있던거 같습니다.
*As food addicts, lunch was't enough so we got some famous Belgium fries! As for the taste, the oil that they used was a little bit different for some reason, but it went really well with all of their sauces. Does anyone know what they used??
먹기 좋아하는 우리는 점심을 먹고서도 더 맛있는걸 먹기 위해 벨기에 가면 꼭 먹어야할 벨기에 감튀를 샀습니다. 기존의 감튀랑 조금 다른 점은 튀긴 기름이 조금 다른 느낌을 받았고, 소스랑 같이 먹으니까 정말 맛있었습니다. 다른점을 아시는분 계신가요?!
*After we were full, we walked over to the pissing statue... Yes. It's actually a fountain with a child that looks like its pissing in the fountain. When we got there they wrapped the statue top in traditional African cow farmers to raise awareness for their milk and difficult lives. So... instead of water, they used milk.
*배가 부른뒤, 저희는 브뤼셀에서 유명한 오줌싸개 동상으로 갔습니다. 진짜로 어린아이의 동상이 분수에서 오줌싸를 싸고 있는데요, 오늘은 아프리카 우유 농장하는 사람들의 힘들 점을 더 알리기 위해 아프리카 전통복을 입혔더군요. 그리고 물 대신에 실제로... 우유를 썼어요...
*Right next door was a Belgium waffle place, so even though we were stuffed, we ate some more waffles. Belgium has a lot of great food and snacks!
바로 옆에 벨기에 와플을 팔아서 배불렀지만서도, 여기까지 왔으니 더 먹게 되었습니다.
*We finally headed to the most famous location in Brussels, the City Hall plaza. And took selfies as usual.
*다음은 브뤼셀에서 가장 유명한 시청 광장으로 떠났는데요, 늘 그래왔던것 처럼 셀카도 찍었습니다.
*We heard that the night views were much better so we headed out to the gardens of Mont des Arts, which was an area full of museums.
*이 광장의 야경이 더 이쁘다고 들어서, 뮤지엄들이 밀집한 지역으로 가게 되었습니다.
*After running around taking photos and buying gifts, we got hungry!? and went back to a place near City Hall to grab some dinner and wine.
*여기저기 돌아다니다가 다시 배고파?졌습니다. 그래서 다시 시청 인근에서 저녁식사와 와인 한잔 했습니다.
*We still had some time left until the sunset, so we decided to do what everyone else was doing. Yes. You guessed it. Beer.
밥을 먹은 뒤에도 시간이 남아서, 다른 사람들처럼 광장 안에서 맥주를 마셨습니다. 하루 종일 술만 먹은거 같네요 ㅎㅎ.
*Once the sun started set, we were able to shoot some amazing photos and call it a day.
*해가 지기 시작하면서 정말 아름다운 야경을 담고 호텔로 돌아갔습니다.
Brussels was one of the most energetic places in Europe and we had a blast the whole day. The locals were friendly and was very kind to show us directions and tips on where to go. This is probably one of the most underrated cities that deserves more attention in Europe.
브뤼셀은 다른 유명한 유럽도시들 보다 더 에너지가 넘치는 곳이였던거 같습니다. 사람들도 굉장히 친절하고 다들 여유가 넘치는 듯한 느낌을 받았고 길 안내도 잘해주고 여행객들을 멀리하지 않고 오히려 반기는 분위기였습니다. 유럽에서 더 많은 관심을 받기 합당한 곳이라고 생각합니다.

Nice post! I am glad that you enjoyed Brussels, the city I am currently living.
I totally agree with what you said. It's so sad that people just pass through Brussels when they do eurotrip.
Btw, the oil they are using to frying is Blanc de Bœuf or Beef Fat. That what makes Belgian fries so special :-)
Thank you for the info! I really thought Brussels was a great city. It was big enough yet cozy and small enough to walk through the city. The oil from the fries were the hidden ingredient!! Thanks for the info!

저도 유럽여행가서 벨기에 방문했는데 한국와서 보니 사진이 다 날라가버렸네요 ㅠㅠ 그렇지만 @darin0925 님 사진보고 위안삼아 봅니다 ㅎㅎ
아이고... ㅠ 사진 날라가면 엄청 속상한데 ㅠㅠ 또 어디어디 가셨어요? 저희가 간 곳이면 나중에 꼭 올릴게요 ㅠ
파리하고 이탈리아 주요도시 다녀왔어요~ 그런데 벨기에 사진만 쏙 사라졌네요 ㅋ
그렇군요! 파리, 이태리는 아마 한참 뒤에 올릴거 같은데... ㅎㅎ 벨기에는 오늘 또 올릴게요!
