Kobe is Japan's 6th largest city, and it is close to Osaka and Kyoto, making it part of the same Metropolitan area. We traveled on a local train from Osaka, for a day trip.
It was one of the few ports open to the west in the mid 1800's, and is so it home to some of Japans biggest companies, including Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
Having ridden a Kawasaki 750, for a couple of years in my late teens, i always wanted to visit the Factory. Amazingly, Kawasaki make everything from Ships, Trains and Space Technology to Robots.
To make a day of it, we also visited a premier tourist facility,The Kobe Animal Kingdom, which is home to many very unusual birds and animals.
Kobe Animal Kingdom, is located in and around a huge greenhouse, so it is great to visit in any type of weather.
Fennec Fox, is nocturnal and lives in the Sahara desert, how cool are the ears?
Many incredible and unusual birds, unfortunately i couldn't read the names in Japanese. Hilariously, i searched Google with this image for the name, and it described it as a Bird.
Described accurately, however not specifically enough, by Google as a Bird.
I have to laugh, the Google search for this image, is best guess Plant.
Toucan
Red or Lessor Panda, these are genetically linked to Panda's and are found in China.
Parrot, from New Guinea.
Fairy Penguins
Giant Tortoise
Alpaca
2 Hump Camel

Riding on a simulator around a Racetrack, incredible feeling.
