Baños de Agua Santa is a small but very rich city in Ecuador's Tungurahua province. If you're aware of this and the many things Baños has to offer, you've probably planned or may be planning your trip here. Whether you're traveling by yourself or with your family, let me tell you that you've made a really good choice. Now, to make your trip more enjoyable, I'll like to share with you some tips that can be very helpful.

1. Choose the right clothes

Baños is mostly known for the endless activities you can do and all the attractions you can look at. If you're looking forward to all these things, which I'm sure you are, pack sportswear that you won't be sorry to get it dirty. That being said, I would also recommend you to be prepared for any weather change. Being in between two different climates, cold and humid, Baños offers a really nice climate for its people and tourists. However, there can be some rainy and chilly days that might get you by surprise.

2. Include trusted medicine in your baggage

Food, delicious, new, curious, and colorful food, is one of the things you'll obviously come across while staying in Baños. If you're a tourist coming here for the first time, I'll suggest that you bring with you any trusted medicine for common illness such as stomach ache, head ache, fever, food allergies, etc. The reason for this is that you'll be exposed to a completely different place and this might affect some of your body systems. Moreover, any food that you'll like to try may not do good to you and any medicine you purchase may not work because your body is just not used to it. Please, do not be afraid to try food that you'll see along the way, this is just a suggestion that will help you if you get to this point.

3. Try to get there a bit early

For the majority of people including locals, they can be looking at vacation between the months of July and September. Therefore, if you're thinking to stay in Baños for a couple of days or weeks between these months, make sure to get there at daytime. This not only enables you to find the right hotel, but also gives you time to plan ahead the activities you wish to practice there for the next days.

4. Buy your bus ticket on time

If you're already on your way back home or traveling to other parts of Ecuador, make sure you buy your bus ticket one day prior. The terminal can get really busy and you can be struggling to buy a bus ticket if you don't do it with anticipation. Furthermore, be on time the day of your departure, especially if you have any checked or carry on baggage, space may be limited if you get there late.

5. Protect your belongings

This is related with the previous tip and I believe it will help a lot of people. When you take a bus to and from Baños, make sure you leave your valuable stuff in your checked baggage which will place on the lower section of the bus. On the other hand, if you think you really need some electronic devices such as laptops or tablets with you, do not leave it out of your reach. For example, if you leave any of these items on the upper component of the bus, you may loose it. In other words, because you're a tourist, you're an easy target to thieves. Thieves may look like ordinary people taking that same bus as you, but once you fall asleep, they'll start stealing quietly and cautiously, and you'll not notice it until you get to your destination. I have seen this happen many times so do yourself a favor and take very good care of your stuff.

6. Enjoy every minute

Now that you're all set, enjoy your trip! You'll be welcomed by very friendly people, does not include those thieves that make Ecuadorian people look bad. Experience every activity Baños has, if possible. Eat as much as you want, if possible. Finally, take as many memorable pictures as you can, which I know is possible.

I hope these tips will help you and if you
found this info helpful, share it with others.
Have a wonderful trip and blessings to all.
