Hi D.Tuber ...
Indonesia has long been known as the batik culture. Now, in Pekalongan there is a village called "Kampung Batik".
After Kampung Pelangi, Semarang City still has another instagramable spot that is no less interesting. Batik Village is named. Located in the area of Kota Lama, Semarang, the village which had a dark history was transformed into a center of batik craft and decorated with murals in every corner.
Batik Village is in the area of Rejomulyo Village, Semarang. To get there, tourists can make Johar Market or the Old City Area as a benchmark. From the two regions, drive the vehicle towards the Bubakan Roundabout which separates Johar Market from the Old City Area. The gate to Batik Village is on Jalan Pattimura, very close to the roundabout.
Batik Village used to have a dark history as an area prone to theft and murder. But after the original Semarang batik craft began to show its stretching again, the villagers overhauled its dark image to be unique and beautiful.
Every corner of the street in Batik Village is decorated with murals featuring typical Semarang batik motifs, wayang stories, and legends from the origin of Semarang City. It was also described how Raden Patah at that time gave the name of the City of Semarang.
In addition to being a place to hunt various batik fabrics and typical batik products from Semarang, this place also provides a short batik course. Visitors only need to pay Rp. 25-30 thousand to try to paint their own batik while asking about the history of typical batik in Semarang.
Not only shopping and learning to make batik, the ideal spot for tourists is of course the walls are full of unique unique murals for photo taking.
Hopefully this batik village can be a good recommendation for all friends, and visit it when the holidays arrive.
