Haha, it is the wide field of view! Or maybe this cat is a mix with a kangaroo :)
I do know when they get all jazzed or mad, they do puff up their tails. I have NO idea how, but they do. Tail muscles???
Follicle muscles :) Tail muscles are used a bit before that, when they move their tail quickly from one side to another, saying "I'm about to go berserk on you human!"

Not really, I usually talk to them in a calm voice and they stop paying attention.
