Starting our planning early
Faith and I had such an amazing time in Thailand experiencing so many new things. We are already starting to plan our next getaway and trying to figure out where in the world we are going to go. This time we are going to be bringing our kids with us, so we are going to want to go somewhere that will be fun for teenagers as well.
The main thing that we want in a vacation spot is a nice beach that we can go swimming in each day. I would like to take the family out snorkeling and possible do some diving as well. We have been looking at Costa Rica or the Cozumel/Cancun area as possible destination spots mainly because they are pretty close and the flights aren't too expensive.
We also would like to be able to do some of the different wildlife excursions or site-seeing near the resort as well. Cozumel and Cancun have some pretty amazing ruins to see, but Costa Rica has the wildlife that we really want to see, like sloths. My daughter is obsessed with sloths, plus I wouldn't mind getting to hold a baby sloth too, because they are adorable.
I did find a place called the Hotel Xcaret Mexica that seems like it might be the place we will stay at if we do visit Mexico. It is a bit pricy, but with everything included, it may end up being cheaper than trying to pay for food, excursions and everything else at all the other places.
We are going to continue to plan things, but if anyone has any other recommendations, let me know. We don't really want to spend too much time on airplanes during this trip, so flying back to Asia is not going to work. We only have about a week for this one and we can't spend about 3 days of it just in the air. Thanks for stopping by and for any recommendations.
Costa Rica is probably a bit more pricey, but if your goal is to see wildlife... then it's definitely the place to go!
Wildlife would be fun to go and take pictures of, but the more I am looking into the Xcaret, I think we may end up going to Mexico.
Hello. Traveling with family is so much fun and DOES take much more forethought.
I do not mean to intrude in your plans. It's just that as you were describing a "next place."
I could think of one place that is exactly that. Roatan, Honduras. A much better diving/snorkeling destination than any of the places you mentioned.
I am biased since I live here part of the year, but it is a true Caribbean wonder. Yet still small and not yet overdeveloped.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into it. I am always open for new places to visit. We are planning on spending a lot of time traveling the world once the kids are out of the house, so if we don’t make it to Honduras this year, we will make it out at some point.
Yes so happy to hear you are making plans to travel, I have been to Mexico twice, it is an amazing country. I have never been to Costa Rica though and I sure would love to. I think central America is your best bet for sure. xxx
I’ve never been yet, but I have wanted to go for a while. With some underground rumors of SF5 possibly being there, I figured it might be good to scope it out beforehand.
