Funny how I am Iranian and I've seen less of Iran than you. Amazing story. It was very interesting to see your see a "safe" place and enjoy the sights/food.
You notice people flocking to Mexico or even India. A place where murders, kidnappings, rape, and violent muggings are very common. Iran is relatively safe to these places.
I will probably backpack through Iran next year. Can't wait.
It is interesting how Iran is such a relatively unpopular travel destination despite its safety and beauty. Backpacking there sounds like it would be incredible! Maybe you can do a post about it at some point, I'd love to read about your experience. :)
