I'd like to introduce Huwon(UNESCO World Heritage) to you.
Huwon is the secret rear garden in Changdeokgung palace or
Changdeok palace of Jeosun dynasty(Korean dynasty
kingdom [1392~1897]
The gate to the Huwon
The road to the Huwon
Walking on the road, I was looking forward to seeing the secret garden.
The first place I saw is Buyongji.
It's a korean traditional pond.
The King and liege men made poems on the pond pavilion(Jeong-ja)
There were civil service exams in this place.
The examiners on the house gave the test papers to the test takers who should write about various topics on the yard (but now trees are replaced)
This stone gate(bulromun) to the aeyeoungi(pond) has an interesting story. (one who goes through the gate would not be old.)
pavilions(Jeong-ja)
fan-shaped pavilion(Jeong-ja), it's the only one like that in Korea.
Walking for a long time, I arrived at Okreouchen.
Unfortunately I couldn't see the flowing water because of cold and snow.
Finally I arrived at Yeongyungdang, the last building in Huwon.
This house was designed like an ordininary one not palace style and it was used for the foreign guests to see the King.
Actually, Huwon has various colors. Anytime, any season you go, you could feel Korean beauty.
