I was so lucky to see this. It's barely the season for the Auroras yet, and I only went out to look one night... and then only because I had to kill time without drinking before returning a rental car at 3 AM and catching a dawn flight. Some people go for a week in the dead of winter and still don't see them.
This was in Iceland, not far from Keflavik and the airport. The steam in the one photo is geothermal. The reflective pool in the second photo is a hot spring. The video below is three short time lapses I shot all stitched together.
Dream place. First-rate photographs. This place is without a doubt one of my favorite place in the world.
