Oh I am a lover of stones too! I love stone walls. I wish our house was built of the stuff, we have enough on our beach to do so, but I'm not going to haul them up here ;) Though our fireplace and outside chimney is covered in local stone.
This would be a dream to me, all this. Really the stone and solidity of the EU always gets me. It has so much more permanence and feels more 'grounded' then the US where we tear things down. At least in my area of New England we keep most of our old city Boston together, but still they tear out old things all the time to replace with glass and steel :/
I have never been to Greece and dream of taking a little stone house perched above a blue sea to paint all morning and bike to a village to sip wine dark coffees and people watch...some day :)
