The Ultimate Bucket List!

in #travel7 years ago

Now what was I supposed to remember?

You heard a great joke! You tell yourself, "I am NOT going to forget this joke!!!"

The next day, it's completely gone, obliterated, deleted from your memory banks, etc.

That's how it is with bucket list items for me. I hear something that I know that I MUST do! If it excites me this much, surely I won't forget it! Without a doubt, I do.

After determining that I would remember at least ten of the things that once captivated my full attention, I compiled this list. I have to say - I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I will also bet that if you are a travel addict like I am, you will steal AT LEAST eight of the things on this list! (and that's ok!)

Ready? Here we go!

1. We need to be startin' with all things pirate, savvy? Navagio Beach, Ionian Islands, Greece

)

This beach, also known as Shipwreck Beach or Smuggler's Cove looks like the ideal place to just hide away. Surrounded by a naturally hewn rock fortress, this secret retreat seems to beckon pirates to bury their treasure here! Someday, I want to lay on the beach here and forget the world!

2. The Ice hotel of Jukkasjärvi in Northern Sweden

If you know me - you have HEARD me say multiple times that I'm the Snow Grinch. So WHY would I want to sleep on a block of ice??? Well -look at it! I think it's pretty self-explanatory! Every year, the Ice hotel melts - and every year - various artist and architects build it back up again for a once in a lifetime experience! Each year it boasts a new design. If you go, you would be only a handful of people that could say they had been in that hotel! And look at the hall below! Opulence!!! Extravagance!!! Let's go!!! :)

3. You know how much I love cruises? Well prepare yourself for the lap of luxury! This cruise line is just one of those things that a cruise aficionado has to try at least once in their lifetime! I won't go into detail - because you can just look at this link for Regent Seven Seas to see the kind of experience I'm talking about! But... here is one of their fleet!

4. As far as cruises go... the previous one was quality. This next one is quality AND quantity! You've heard of the book Around the World in Eighty Days? Well how about a cruise that takes you around the world in 180 days? This beauty spans 5 continents and takes you to 90 ports! I couldn't possibly summarize it for you - so go whet your appetite here!

5. This one needs absolutely no explanation! Just feast your eyes on this extraordinary phenomenon!

6. I love horses. I love Georgian food. This 9 day horse trek through Georgia is a match made in heaven! The picture is just a beautiful example of a horse riding trip through nature... but if you want to see the REAL pictures and get to hear all about it - Take a look here at this fabulous adventure! I think my favorite part of the experience is that on one of the days of the trek, you get to homestay with a Georgian family! How's that for authentic?

7. The unbelievably pristine Lake Moraine

"

Words can't describe how badly I want to just be in the presence of this water! I'm not sure how likely it is that I can do all of the things on my list - but this one is going to happen! They have a cozy and inviting resort on the lake that calls my name! Who wants to jump in that water with me?

8. Seclusion on an overwater bungalow in the Maldives

Maybe I shouldn't go here, after all. If I go, I will surely never return!

9. A train ride tour through the Canadian Rockies

We took a 15 hour train ride from Moscow to our friend's village. For the first time in our lives, we decided to splurge on first class. We did not regret it!!!! Ever since then, I've been wanting to take another train ride - just a nice, slow, relaxing journey somewhere so I can sit and stare out the window at the beautiful scenery passing by! This seems like a great option in Canada!

10. Last but certainly not least - flying first class on Singapore airlines

This one wins the high school yearbook award for "Least Likely to Come True", but it is so insanely decadent that I had to put it on here! The pictures have to be seen on this website since I didn't know how to attribute their photos properly. I will say - if you click on the link, you won't be disappointed. They actually have first class suites on board this airline! It's like a hotel room on a plane! Wow! You know I could never actually save for this, because when I have $5000 saved up - it's going to turn my black eyes blue. ha @silversaver888! But even if it wasn't set aside for trading in my eyeballs... unless Singapore Airlines wants to send me on a free trip in exchange for my effervescent praise and continuous awe - this bucket list item will most likely not get crossed off!

If ANYONE does fly first class on Singapore Airlines, I hereby charge thee with the duty of providing photographic evidence and thorough documentation so that I may live every precious moment of your experience vicariously through you!

I only have one thing to say - I'm coming too!!!

yesssssssssssssssssssss come Andy!!!!!! how much fun would we have???

Were your ears ringing this morning??? LOL the hubby and I were talking about you and New Zealand... he had a bunch of questions about your land! hehehe

ok Andy!!!! which one??? if someone said - I'm paying for one of these things on the list for you to enjoy!!! which one would you choose??? :)

its an easy choice for me! hhahaha

MMmmmm I be really torn between 5 and 6 with 9 coming pretty high on the list too!

What does hubby want to know?

ohhhhhhh i think you should do 6 with me!!!! :)

he was asking too many questions LOL i think he wants to move there too ;)

i'll share his questions in DM with you next time we talk hehehe

cough cough are you girls forgetting something, or I should say someone lol

LOLOLOLOL NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaa <3

Man, all of these are nice, but a few of them I don't think I could get past the price. $5k for Singapore Airlines? I'd be afraid to fall asleep, lest I waste the money with my eyes closed. Heck, just going to the bathroom, I'd be counting the minutes and money (mmm, I just paid $100 to pee)

oh no... I just put $5000 up because that's when I have to stop saving and splurge to get myself some blue eyes instead of the black irises that I'm currently sporting... hahahahaha
its actually $8000-9000..... sooooo yep. LOLOL unless they want dreemsteem to be their official paid poster child for their airlines.... I'm not gonna really ever be able to do this. hahahahaha

and - yes!!!! i would have to be awake the whole time - and like... running up and down the aisles telling everyone... WANNA COME SEE MY ROOM??? COME ON - COME SEE MY ROOM!!!!

hahahahahaha

I totally agree with you. Money! WHYYYYYYYYYYYY. why must you keep me from my heart's desires, money?!?!?!?!

LOL -but.... a girl has to dream, right? :)

ok - i just asked Vanessa below - so now I'm curious for everyone!!! hahahaha Which would be the one that you would choose from my list - if money was no object???

i think it would have to be the 180 day cruise for me.... just because its sooooo long :)

In this order; check out the Northern Lights, visit Lake Moraine then a train ride through the Canadian Rockies.

isn't it funny how the Northern Lights is such a draw for people??? that is one of that everyone seems to say oh yaaaaaaaaah i want to do that too!!! hehehehe

and yes - your list sounds lovely! if i end up doing any of those... i will be sure to take lots of pictures and fill you in! (and you do the same for me please!!) :)

Sigh...

All so lovely, all so seemingly unobtainable. In this life.

My current bucket list is surviving long enough and succeeding well enough to do a better job of providing for my spouse...

😄😇😄

@creatr

I think I just need to figure out a way to get someone to sponsor me to try all these things!!!! happiest day! hehehe
and win/win

i will write for days about how the experience was!!!!

I don't think they ALL seem unobtainable. Northern lights - totally do-able! Riding the rail in the Rockies? Easy! Lake Moraine? it's already being planned - as is the horse trip to Georgia (the country - not the state hahaha)

We just need to make plans and do!

but the 180 day cruise? hmmmm not unless i can find that sponsorship in the mail LOLOL

I already have Maldives as my travel bucket list and in my visionboard! The others are awesome as well.

lovely!!!! I hope that you make it a reality @maverickinvictus.... and.... may I request something? hehehe

when you make it there... please let me know if it was everything that I dreamed it would be!!!

I will do the same for you :)

Gosh, I could comment on every fantastic item on you list...
But i'll keep it short.
I have reservations about the ice hotel.
Not reservations with the ice hotel.
That does not look like a good time to be spending money on.

well...you don't have to keep it short on my account - you KNOW i love comments (and shoot - did another IBT start?!?!?!?! and did i miss the beginning???? i've been in and out of the hospital with hubby and a bit scatterbrained. i'll have to check really quickly today - i can't miss out on another one!)

and - i'm so not a "oh i love the cold" person. Quite the opposite.... but that ice hotel doesn't look incredible?!?!?!? hahahahaa i have to experience it! LOL they even have a bar that serves drinks out of little carved ice glasses... oh my gosh - it just sounds refreshing!

and then right after that - i need to go to the Smuggler's Cove to thaw!!! hehehehe

i'm asking everyone.... which one would you choose -if money was no object? :)

It would be fun to go back to Greece. That cove looks so cool.
However, I would like to go back to Vietnam even more. Love that place.:)

so many people have enjoyed Vietnam!!! you've been there and to Greece... where else??? you sound like a traveler! hehehe

I live on the west coast of the U.S.. Let's see... I've been to,
Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Iceland...(but only to drop off a dead passenger), Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Turkey, Czech republic, and Vietnam.
Double that list if you count layovers. :)

I ALSO live on the west coast of the US ;)

Your travel list is longer than mine but I have been to different places...
You can take mine and I'll take you!!! Lol
Canada and Mexico of course we have both been there. Hehehe
Fiji, El Salvador, Bahamas, Russia, islands count? Turks& Caicos, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico ( US, but island), St. Kitts

Dead passenger... hmm well that sounds awful. 😖

Yea... Poor guy had a heart attack mid flight. :(

Oh gosh. See beauty

BUT.... such EXPENSIVE beauty.... aghhhhhh. All the whales talk about getting their lambo... right?? LOL as a sign of "arriving" on Steemit.

that's the pinnacle of their success... the lambo..

I say... they should just take my bucket list and experience all these things! hahahaha a car will eventually clunk out! but these memories???? last a lifetime!!! :)

Which would be the one you would choose from my list - if money was no object??? :)

True. Please don't make me choose.

hahahahaha ok - then you can do all 10!!! :)

have you done a bucket list challenge yet??? :)

Agreed! Crypto enthusiasts are the models for greed and that's why crypto posts steal most of the rewards pool. It's quite disappointing...

yes... but we can just focus on what we're adding to the platform!!! less time exerting energy over greedy people - and more time enjoying what's added - right?

i find i usually take the "ignore the tantrum" approach when i see people that want attention for bad behavior. lol I was never a huge fan of Oprah - but occasionally she would share a nugget that I thought was valuable.

One day, she was speaking about someone/something negative. (don't even remember actually - which just goes to show you that her point was valid!!!)

She said that she would choose not to even draw attention to them by speaking about it - because even in speaking negatively - you're bringing a focus to it. She would rather speak about (and draw attention to) the positive things done in SPITE of their negative efforts.

I thought that was really powerful. I think there are always times to discuss negative issues when the goal is to find a solution. Of course - then, its necessary!

But you and I? We have time and energy invested in the things that bring the focus to community, connection, support, help, friendship, engagement, service...

That's why it's a joy for me to do what I can to support your initiative and point people in your direction when it's appropriate! and I so enjoy your comments on my posts - always :)

They always make me smile! Thanks @notconvinced :)

Great list. Got some spare time for daydreaming ... :)

now i'm asking everyone.... hehehe

if money was no object.... which one on my list would you choose to do??? :)

Νο 3 to the fullest...

ahhhhhhhhhh a man after my own heart!!!! hehehehe

dreaming with you now!!! :) there is nothing quite like a cruise (in my opinion) if it's done correctly!!!

but a luxury cruise.... oh my goodness. now i'm lost in a daydream hahahahaha

as i charged others... if you EVER get to do this before me... i need full details and photos please (and i'll do the same for you hehehe)

Of course, if I do it, you will have full details and lengthy posts on all social media platforms available.
Now, back to reality ... :)

You would make an awesome tour guide...I would enjoy any one of those...

hehehehe - i've often thought... there was this girl on tv - Samantha Brown - back in the early 2000's i think??? maybe late 90's??

and she had the BEST job. she just experienced all these fabulous places and then told us all about them (and made us drool!!) hahahaha

can i have that job???? its 2018. we need a new Samantha Brown :)

ok - so i've asked everyone else... if money was no object - which one on my list would you choose to do??? :)

What an amazing list! The only one I have had the chance to do is a train ride through the Rockies and it is absolutely stunning! I hope you can complete your whole list some day. And I love the idea of first class on Singapore Air. I will dream of doing that some day as well. :)

hehehehe dreaming is right!!! :) I think the only way that I can experience some of these is if I'm sound asleep, letting my mind take me there!!!

ohhhh why does money have to be such a deterrent!!! hehehe

When you took the train ride - do you mind sharing a little about it? Is there anything you would change? I love getting travel tips from people who've gone before me!!!! hehehehe

by the way - i like your username hehehehe

ok - ive gone back and asked everyone... so i need to ask you!! :) which one would you choose on my list if money was no object!!!! :)

Awwwww, all of those places are amazing and I wish that you do visit them all 💚

someday!!! at least the ones that are in my price range! hehehehe

15 hour train ride sounds uncomfortable! Doesn't your bum get permanently damaged??

Lololol we rode first class... We had beds in a little suite 😊

So so fun!!!!

Oohh "first class". "Look at me, I'm in the first class", oo woo ohaoosaaa wowo ahaaaaho ossaaaa :D

just saw this random comment from you - and thinking of you!!! LOL

that Greek beach, the northern lights from iceland, the villa over the water for sure.
I did take a train thru the Alaskan Wilderness, but its on the list for a return.
Almost any glacier, too. The Galapagos Islands, and most importantly, Antarctica.

and my house again!

perhaps the only real one on my bucket list

hehehehe hooray hehehehe
