For my 18th birthday I went to Lisbon with my boyfriend. It was the first time I was going to take a plan and immediately the first time I missed a plane. We had to buy new tickets and there were only first class tickets left... So, you could say it was a surprising morning.
Landed at the airport we bought a Lisbon City card which allowed us to visit a lot of things for free or with a huge discount and also the possibility to use public transport whenever you want. If you ever have plans to visit Lisbon, I strongly recommend to buy this card!
The first thing we visited was the 1998 Lisbon World Exposition and the Parque das Nações. When you walk through this neighborhood you really see the influence of the ocean in everything what the intention of the creators was. All the buildings are very high, modern, blue/white and have something playful in their architecture. Further, there are many fountains that are very beautifully finished with colored stones.
Afterwards, we Flew silently over the park by riding the cable car. It was an amazing view but also very hot!
Next stop was the Oceanarium that looked like a massive central tank and four outer tanks that represent the four oceanic ecosystems. The range of fish is superior and for me the highlights were the playful sea otters, sharks, crabs and the clumsy penguins.
At the end of the day we went looking for something to eat and ended in Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre. So, ladies if you have some extra time you know what to do ;).
I hope you liked it and tomorrow I'll post about my second day in Lisbon.
That looks great!
thanks!!
