Good day Steemians! How was your weekend? In 2 days we will bid goodbye to my birthday month and say hello to May. Wow! Time really flies. FAST!
Anyways, my next travel story is my visit inside Wat Pho, the home of the famous reclining Buddha. Before we got inside the temple, we paid an entrance fee of 100 BHT or P160. Inside, there were more beautiful temples. The place was quiet and peaceful and it's tranquility adds up to the beauty of the landmarks. You can light up a Buddhist candle inside the temple. It's an incense used by Buddhist when praying.
When going inside their temples, you should follow certain rules. We must respect their religion and beliefs. First, there is a designated trash bin situated around the area. So, proper of disposal of waste is to be followed. Second, it is improper for women to wear sleeveless and shorts inside the temple. They will be requested to wear a sarong like dress. Sorry! I don't know the name. Same for men except for wearing sarong. Also, wearing of shoes, slippers, sandals are not allowed inside the temple. We were requested to take off our shoes when we got inside the temple.
The Reclining Buddha is a huge lying Buddha about 50 meters long. It is covered entirely with gold. I thought it was real. It was actually real. I was glad I saw the famous Buddha. That was a priceless moment for me. According to the locals, the position of the statue represents the actual position of Buddha when he is sleeping. I even took a video of the place showing the size of the statue.
Bangkok is a great City to explore. Much of their culture, their people are their jewels. I hope you could visit the place too.
That's it Steemians! I wish you all enjoy my short blog. Don't worry I still have a lot of Bangkok stories for all of you friends.
Until next time, this is the laagan, DarwinTheExplorer and Tara! Cge na! Kuyug ta ba!
